Position Summary

The Senior HR Business Partner is an experienced individual contributor who applies strong business acumen and HR expertise to help leaders execute business strategy through effective talent and organizational solutions.

This role serves as a coach and consultant to leaders, drives positive change and operational excellence, develops talent, builds high-performing teams, and models the organization’s values. The Senior HR Business Partner may lead HR projects, is recognized as an expert in at least one core HR capability, and operates with limited day-to-day direction. The role also requires deep knowledge of at least one business area and the experience and influence to mentor other HR Business Partners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with leaders to develop and execute HR, people, and organizational strategies that support business outcomes. Conduct needs analyses to identify and prioritize HR plans and development activities.
  • Partner with leaders on job and organizational design, including how roles fit within the team and broader organization. Collaborate with Compensation and Talent Acquisition to benchmark positions and support the timely placement of strong talent.
  • Coach and educate people leaders and employees on HR plans, programs, practices, processes, and tools related to talent and organizational effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with HR Centers of Excellence to address business needs across organizational design and effectiveness, talent management, talent acquisition, leadership and career development, succession planning, culture, total rewards, HR technology and digital transformation, employee and labor relations, inclusion and diversity, and corporate social responsibility. Directly execute solutions or coordinate services across the HR operating model as appropriate.
  • Understand general business conditions (e.g., social, technological, economic, political, environmental, demographic trends) that affect our industry and workforce. Works with business leaders to action plan for successful navigation of the trends. Partners with HRBP, business and COEs for creation of HR tools to meet needs now and for the future.
  • Provide project management and ownership for HR initiatives and process-improvement opportunities.
  • Serve as a change agent by supporting the transformation of talent, technology, systems, policies, and processes to strengthen business performance and operational efficiency.
  • Build and maintain an external professional network to stay current on HR and workforce trends. Translate relevant external trends into organizational recommendations and potential actions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management or another relevant field required.
  • 4+ years of experience as an HR Business Partner, HR Generalist, or in another relevant HR role required.
  • 1+ years of experience as a strategic HR Business Partner required.
  • SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification preferred

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Being an enthusiastic team player with a strong drive to create a positive work environment
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously with orientation on results
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to adapt & respond effectively to a rapid and complex changing work environment
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills refined for customer interaction
  • Ability to be comfortable with high volume workload and not resistant or afraid to "roll up your sleeves"
  • Ability to compile, review and make recommendations by analyzing data across functional areas of HR
  • Experience working in a large organization with multiple functional layers of HR
  • Knowledge of employment law
  • Proven effective consulting skills, with an ability to influence in all directions and at all levels
  • Employee relations experience as an HR professional supporting operations or corporate functions
