Job Description

Team: Global Market Access and Pricing – Diabetes& Access, Product & Portfolio Strategy

Location: Bangalore, Novo Nordisk Global Business Services (GBS), India

Shape how millions of people gain access to the next generation of diabetes therapies. In this role, you will own asset-level market access and payer value strategy at a defining moment for Novo Nordisk – translating science into reimbursement reality across the globe.

Your new role
As Senior Global Market Access Lead, you will own and drive market access and payer value strategy across pipeline, launch, and lifecycle stages for the assigned asset(s) within the diabetes and cardio portfolio. Operating with high independence, you will integrate payer insight, HTA strategy, and value communication into the heart of asset development – influencing how our therapies reach patients in 194 countries.

Day-to-day, your responsibilities will include:

  • Owning asset-level market access and payer value strategy, integrating payer research, Target Access Profile (TAP), and access risk assessment across pipeline, launch, and lifecycle stages
  • Leading the development and refinement of TAPs, market access business cases, and global payer value communication toolsets (eCVDs, value decks, negotiation toolkits) in collaboration with Pricing and HEOR
  • Shaping HTA and reimbursement strategy packages, including submission sequencing plans, risk assessments, and high-complexity affiliate support for HTA submissions, payer negotiations, and objection handling
  • Providing market access input into clinical development planning, including early access strategy, HTA risk assessment, and evidence needs
  • Driving payer insight generation to inform access strategy, value messaging, and evidence requirements
  • Acting as informal market access matrix lead for assigned assets – coordinating cross-functional stakeholders across Clinical, Medical, Commercial, Regulatory, and affiliate teams
  • Leading internal and affiliate-facing training on asset-specific access strategy and payer value communication, and mentoring junior and mid-level colleagues across the team

Your new department
In Product & Portfolio Strategy we drive commercial strategy, medical affairs and business development across all therapy areas. We act as a connector and compass, guiding the new Novo Nordisk portfolio for sustained competitiveness upstream, and maximising portfolio potential through successful commercial strategies and competitive launches downstream.
You will join Global Market Access and Pricing – Diabetes & Access, the team responsible for de-fining, shaping, and operationalising payer-relevant value and access strategies across the asset lifecycle. We work at the intersection of science, evidence, and health systems – partnering close-ly with HEOR, Pricing, Payer Evidence, Clinical Development, Medical, Commercial, and region-al/affiliate teams to ensure payer insights and access strategy are embedded into pipeline development, launch preparation, and lifecycle management.

Your skills & qualifications
We are looking for a strategic, payer-savvy market access professional who thrives in high-ambiguity environments and enjoys turning complex evidence into clear access outcomes. You'll bring with you:

  • A Master's degree or higher in Health Economics, Public Health, Pharmacy, Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Health Services Research, or a closely related quantitative/health discipline, with formal training or demonstrated experience in Market Access, Value Strategy, Payer Engagement, or Health Economics
  • 6–10 years of relevant experience with clear ownership of asset-level market access strategy, including payer research, TAP development, HTA planning, and launch preparation
  • Strong understanding of payer systems, HTA processes, and reimbursement pathways across key markets, combined with knowledge of payer research methods and the ability to translate insight into coherent access strategy
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and refine TAPs, market access business cases, and pay-er value narratives – integrating pricing, HEOR, and payer evidence inputs into a single, defensible story
  • Proven success operating in a global matrix environment, with advanced stakeholder management, strong project leadership, and excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Sound judgement in balancing access ambition with evidence readiness and launch constraints, and the personal resilience to navigate shifting payer feedback and strategic priorities
  • The role is global in scope, with up to 5% international travel and virtual collaboration across time zones.
