Job Description

Devoteam is a global tech consulting firm driving AI-driven transformation for sustainable value, guided by our vision Tech for people

We believe technology goes beyond solving problems—it enables better change for businesses, people, and society. Through our AMPLIFY strategy, we empower clients to imagine and realise better change by combining creativity, leading technology, AI, and strategic thinking into impactful, real-world use cases.

With 25+ years of experience and 8,000+ professionals across Europe and the Middle East, Devoteam fosters an environment where people grow, innovation thrives, and responsible technology creates long-term impact.

1. Modernization & Development (60%)

  • Build and deploy scalable backends (Node.js, Go, or Python) and dynamic frontends (React, Vue, or Angular) specifically designed for serverless environments (Cloud Run, App Engine, Cloud Functions).

  • Execute "Strangler Fig" patterns to break down legacy monolithic applications (Java/.NET) into independent microservices.

  • Design and implement RESTful and gRPC APIs with strict adherence to OpenAPI/Swagger standards.

  • Model data for both Relational (Cloud SQL - PostgreSQL/MySQL) and NoSQL (Firestore, Bigtable) paradigms, optimizing for performance and cost.

2. Engineering Rigor & DevOps (20%)

  • You are responsible for your own Dockerfiles. You must produce optimized, multi-stage builds that are security-scanned and production-ready.

  • Write the pipeline scripts (Cloud Build / GitHub Actions) to test and deploy your own services. The "throw it over the wall to QA" mentality is not accepted here.

  • Integrate OpenTelemetry, Cloud Trace, and Cloud Profiler into your code to ensure we can debug performance issues in production.

3. Consulting & Mentorship (20%)

  • Enforce strict linting, typing (TypeScript), and unit/integration testing standards in the squad.

  • Explain technical trade-offs to client product owners (e.g., "Why using Firestore here is better/worse than SQL").

  • Pair-program with Associate Engineers to help them upskill from "Junior Dev" to "Cloud Dev."

Qualifications

Must-Have Technical Skills:

  • 5+ years of total software development experience, with significant exposure to distributed systems.

  • Strong proficiency in at least one modern backend language (Node.js/TypeScript, Go, or Python).

  • Solid experience with a modern SPA framework (React.js is preferred, but Angular/Vue is acceptable).

  • Hands-on experience with Serverless platforms (AWS Lambda/Fargate or GCP Cloud Run/App Engine). Experience with EC2/VM-based hosting alone is insufficient.

  • Proven experience with both SQL (Postgres) and NoSQL (Mongo/Firestore). You must know when to use which.

Professional Attributes:

  • You must understand the 12-Factor App methodology inside and out.

  • Ability to articulate technical debt and modernization ROI to non-technical stakeholders.

  • Professional working proficiency (Written & Spoken).

Nice-to-Have:

  • Experience with Event-Driven Architecture (Kafka, Pub/Sub).

  • Experience refactoring Java Spring Boot or .NET Core (common legacy stacks we modernize).

  • Google Cloud Professional Cloud Developer certification.

Additional Information

At the moment we are only able to hire candidates based in Jakarta for a full-time working hour.
