This person works as a team to provide food service that is safe, accurate, timely and responsive to the customer and patient’s needs. Food service includes stocking, assembling, and serving portion controlled hot and cold food, replenishing and stocking stations, and general sanitation duties. This person may work in one of the following areas within Nutrition & Food Services. Retail Food Service includes serving, cashiering, bussing, and barista duties. Patient Food Services includes assembly and delivery of patient meal trays. This position may be responsible for responsible for cash, credit card and debit card transactions. This person maintains cleanliness and sanitation of the foodservice areas and equipment. This position is responsible for providing excellent customer, patient, and staff interactions and is looked upon as the ambassador for the department of Nutrition and Food Services.

Loads trays on the meal carts and utilizes TUGS and dumbwaiter systems to dispatch the trays in presence of TIM clerk.
Delivers and picks up trays and formulas for patient and guest meals from their rooms per sequencing and dispatch from TIM Clerk.
Follows tray delivery standards including two patient identifier confirmation.
Maintains efficiency and timeliness of tray delivery standard of 45 minutes and scans trays accordingly.
Maintains pantry and family lounge stock and sanitation.
Passes menus to patients and assists patients with meal ordering, referring to DTRs as needed.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
High School diploma or equivalent
A minimum of 2 years of customer facing experience within the food service, hospitality or retail industries.
Read, write, follow written or oral instructions and be understood in English.
Basic computer skills.
This position requires flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Medical Center locations.
Ability to meet physical demands involved with job duties as outlined below.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATION
Two years of college or equivalent.
State of California Food Handler certification or Servsafe certification.
