Super Micro Computer, Inc. is seeking talented Sr. Firmware Engineer will be responsible for developing world class firmware to fully maximize the strong hardware architecture of in-house servers, switch. We are looking for talented individuals who enjoy creating firmware for networking products, prototyping concepts, and investigating in new technologies. In this position, the candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design robust networking products.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Design, develop, and maintain software or firmware for Ethernet switch platforms.
  2. Implement and enhance Layer 2/Layer 3 networking features and protocols.
  3. Collaborate with hardware, ASIC, and system software teams on platform bring-up, integration, and feature development.
  4. Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve networking, performance, and interoperability issues.
  5. Support product validation, testing, and customer issue resolution throughout the product lifecycle.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  2. Proficiency in C/C++ programming and Linux software development.
  3. Strong knowledge of Ethernet switching, TCP/IP, and Layer 2/Layer 3 networking protocols.
  4. Experience with network switch software/firmware development and debugging tools (e.g., Wireshark, tcpdump).
  5. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with the ability to work in a cross-functional team.
