As a member of the Finance Business Technology group, the Senior Financial Systems Analyst executes processes to optimize financial systems and enable accuracy, efficiency, and scalability across finance and accounting operations.

This role is responsible for system and reporting administration, analysis, troubleshooting, and enhancements while collaborating closely with cross‑functional teams. The Senior Analyst is accountable for the successful delivery of assigned work, including configurations, data integrity analysis, testing, documentation, and operational support.

This role will report to the Senior Manager, Financial Systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform the administration, configuration, and troubleshooting of financial systems and perform day‑to‑day operations and integrations.
    • Investigate and resolve errors within the ERP system (NAV) to maintain accuracy of ledger postings.
      • Review transaction level sales data for completeness and accuracy from source systems.
    • Maintain and update Workday Adaptive Financial Planning (AFP):
      • Integration mapping, ensuring alignment with NAV structures.
      • Reporting, including management and board reporting, to support accuracy as reporting requirements evolve.
      • Other administrative tasks as required.
    • Provide operational finance activities for month‑end and year‑end, including system close
    • Use data analytics tools and queries to validate data integrity and assess data flows, to identify root causes and respond to accounting and cross-functional ad-hoc requests.
  • In peak times, perform cross functional tasks for other systems (ex. Accounts Payable invoice and expense systems)
    • Resolve system errors and support user inquiries
    • Manage configurations, workflows, and user access.
    • Ensure compliance with corporate expense policies and financial controls.
  • Own assigned projects and enhancements, including requirements, documentation, and training.
    • Develop and execute test scenarios and scripts for unit testing, system integration testing (“SIT”), and user acceptance testing (“UAT”).
    • Ensure defects are reported in JIRA, tracked, resolved, and tested.
    • With support from the Business Technology management team, provide regular status updates, risk assessments, and issue resolution plans to Senior management
    • Ensure deliverables are completed on time and meet quality standards.
  • Support internal controls compliance, including policy maintenance and user role reviews.
  • Participate as a finance SME on cross‑functional initiatives, ensuring downstream financial impacts are considered.
  • Identify and execute opportunities to improve system performance, controls, and processes.
  • Build effective working relationships with partners, vendors, and cross‑functional teams.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams including, but not limited to, finance and accounting, supply chain, HR, and IT to ensure alignment and resolution.

Skills, Experience, Education, Certifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, Business Information Systems, or related field
  • CPA designation is preferred.
  • Experience in working with ERP systems such as NAV, Dynamics, SAP, or Oracle
  • Experience working with FP&A reporting tools, AFP preferred.
  • 3 years of relevant experience including project management, financial systems implementation
  • Understanding of accounting and finance processes including day-to-day processes and month-end
  • Strong interpersonal and oral/written/presentation skills.

Competencies

  • Communication – communicate complex results, tailoring to multiple stakeholders including IT, accounting and finance, external consults, project team etc.
  • Problem solving and identifications – independently investigate system issues, escalate and communicate as required, and provide solution recommendations.
  • Attention to detail – certain tests and issues need to be analyzed at the transactional level; candidate must be able to drill down to the details and assess intricacies.
  • Technical knowledge – understand data flow between systems and tables and the finance impact to general ledger and reporting.
