Sr Financial Analyst – Operations Finance (Uppsala)

The ImmunoDiagnostics Division (IDD), is a division of the Specialty Diagnostics Group within Thermo Fisher Scientific. IDD develops, manufactures, and markets complete blood test systems to support the clinical diagnosis and follow-up of allergy and autoimmune diseases. The allergy and autoimmunity product lines operate on a common automated instrument platform, Phadia Laboratory Systems, which supports both productivity and cost efficiencies in clinical laboratories around the world.

How you will make an impact

As Sr Financial Analyst, you will take on a highly visible and strategic role within Operations Finance. You will act as a Finance Business Partner to one of our manufacturing sites while also serving as a key contributor to the development of our financial planning, reporting, and digital capabilities.

This role is designed for a senior finance professional ready to operate as a trusted advisor and future leader, with significant influence on how we shape our financial processes, tools, and decision-making frameworks.

What you will do

You will combine hands-on business partnering with broader ownership of financial development initiatives across the Operations Finance function:

  • Act as Finance Business Partner to one manufacturing site, supporting operational leadership with insights, performance analysis, and decision support
  • Serve as a key strategic partner within Operations Finance, contributing to the development of reporting structures, planning processes, and analytical frameworks
  • Lead and continuously improve group operations reporting, ensuring high-quality, insightful, and decision-relevant outputs for senior management
  • Drive the development and implementation of digital tools and dashboards (e.g. Power BI and other corporate systems) to enhance automation, transparency, and analytical capabilities
  • Take a leading role in long-term strategic planning, Annual Operating Plan (AOP), and forecasting processes, including scenario modeling and assumptions development
  • Perform ad hoc and scenario-based analyses to support strategic decisions and evaluate risks and opportunities
  • Contribute to and lead cross-functional finance and operations projects, driving process improvements and standardization
  • Develop and maintain robust financial models supporting business planning, investment decisions, and operational performance tracking
  • Translate complex financial and operational data into clear insights and senior management presentations

How you will get here

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (advanced degree preferred)
  • Significant experience in FP&A, Controlling, or Operations Finance, with exposure to manufacturing environments

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Strong experience as a Finance Business Partner, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders
  • Demonstrated capability to operate at a strategic level, balancing detail-oriented analysis with big-picture thinking
  • Proven experience in financial planning processes (forecasting, AOP, long-range planning)
  • Advanced analytical skills, with the ability to structure complex problems and deliver actionable insights
  • Strong interest and experience in digital finance tools and data visualization (e.g. Power BI, SAP, planning systems)
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex topics clearly and confidently to senior leadership
  • High level of ownership, initiative, and ability to work independently in a dynamic environment
  • Continuous improvement mindset, with experience driving process enhancements and efficiency initiatives
