Job DetailsJob Location: Oklahoma City Office - Oklahoma City, OK 73102Position Type: Full TimeTravel Percentage: Up to 25%Job Shift: DayThe Financial Analyst, Capital Development, provides critical financial and analytical support for the upstream business unit's major capital projects, including new well development, drilling programs, and infrastructure expansion. This role is responsible for the performance tracking and planning that informs multi million dollar investment decisions.
Key Responsibilities
Planning & Forecasting: Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to prepare and manage the annual capital expenditure (CapEx) plan and provide ongoing forecasts. Monitor project spending and flag any significant variances to plan.
Performance Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and ad hoc reports that track project performance against plan and original investment metrics. Provide clear, concise analysis and commentary for management.
Cross Functional Communication & Coordination: Serve as the central point of contact for capital information, gathering and synthesizing data from multiple teams, including drilling, completions, construction, facilities, and midstream operations, to ensure a unified and accurate view of the basin's capital projects.
Decision Support & Analysis: Conduct sensitivity analysis on key project variables, such as commodity prices, drilling costs, and production volumes, to assess risk. Provide data driven recommendations to support capital allocation decisions.
QualificationsRequired Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Engineering, or Business.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex financial data into actionable insights for both financial and non financial audiences.
4–8 years of FP&A and/or operational planning; oil & gas or other capital intensive industry preferred.
Prior experience with forecasting, variance analysis, and financial modeling.
Preferred Qualifications
Strong financial modeling and analytical capabilities (Excel, Google Sheets)
Ability to interpret financial statements and operational data.
Strong organization, time management, and prioritization skills
Ability to challenge assumptions and influence decision making across teams.
