The Senior Business Unit Financial Analyst is an important member of the management reporting, planning and analysis team within Chief Operating Office (COO) Finance. This partner will be a key player supporting the financial needs of the COO business.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Strong finance and/or accounting skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Solid analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Good oral and written communication skills with an ability to communicate with partners across all levels of seniority.
  • Strong relationship building and management skills required to work with partners in both Finance and across the business.
  • Strong Excel, PowerPoint, and data analysis skills.

Major Duties

  • Provide analysis, reporting and forecasting of consolidated COO financial results, supporting the Chief Operating Officer and other senior leadership in driving business results.
  • Assist manager in leading the Annual Plan process for COO, including setting annual targets, and developing tools that allow for the consolidation and analysis of the plans submitted by the COO segments.
  • Develop strong relationships and closely coordinate with Finance partners across the globe.
  • Participate in working groups for the rationalization of the Financial reporting model and participate in User Acceptance Testing for new/updated functionality for financial reporting systems.
  • Participate in special projects as required by the managers of the team, the AS Chief Financial Officer, or senior leaders in the business.
  • Develop strong relationships and closely coordinate with finance partners across the globe.

Experience

  • 5+ years relevant experience and possess a bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting.
  • Experience using Cognos Analytics and Power BI is a plus.

Salary Range:

$83,100 - 141,300 USD

Salary range is a good faith estimate of base pay. Northern Trust provides a comprehensive benefits package including retirement benefits (401k and pension), health and welfare benefits (medical, dental, vision, spending accounts and disability), paid time off, parental and caregiver leave, life & accident insurance, and other voluntary and well-being benefits. Northern Trust also provides a discretionary bonus program that may include an equity component.
