How you will make an impact:
As a Senior Financial Analyst, you will be an integral member of our operations finance team, ensuring financial integrity, operational efficiency, and data-driven decision-making. In this dynamic role, you’ll support the production of cutting-edge scanning electron microscopes essential for quality control in the integrated circuit industry. Your expertise will directly contribute to Thermo Fisher Scientific’s position as a global leader in scientific innovation. We are looking for Finance talent with highly analytical skills and with great attention to detail. Strong communication and organizational skills are key to be successful. Furthermore, experience in navigating complex matrixed environments is required. Establishing strong partnerships with business leaders is essential in our fast-paced environment.
What you will do:
Financial Analysis and Consolidation: Perform in-depth analysis of production costs, variances, and cost drivers to support data-driven operational decisions. Highlight financial insights and drive necessary actions. Identify risks and opportunities. Consolidate Financials for Brno Operations.
Budgeting and forecasting: together with finance site lead drive the annual budgeting (AOP) and monthly forecasting process including reporting through the monthly reviews.
Inventory Management: Oversee and optimize inventory levels to minimize excess and maximize efficiency by establishing metrics, modeling scenarios, and implementing process improvements.
Excellence and Productivity: Improve processes, analytics, and dashboards. Streamline routine analysis through automation and develop business intelligence capabilities.
Monthly Financial Close: Lead monthly close activities for Brno Operations Finance team, including reporting and account reconciliations.
Business Partnering: Support strategic planning and initiatives. Provide analytics to identify insights and growth opportunities.
Collaboration: Work closely with manufacturing, supply chain, and operations teams to streamline workflows, improve productivity, and manage costs with a focus on achieving financial and operational plans. Partner with regional FP&A/Accounting teams for timely and accurate financial reporting.
Compliance & Reporting: Ensure adherence to accounting standards, internal controls, corporate policies, and regulatory requirements in alignment with financial and cost accounting standards.
Ad-hoc Projects: Support financial modeling, analytics, and investment proposals.
Requirements/Qualifications
7+ years of experience in accounting and finance with majority within manufacturing environment
Bachelor’s degree in Finance/Accounting required
Strong knowledge of financial accounting standards and cost accounting principles and a comprehensive understanding of manufacturing, supply chain, and operational flows.
Advanced proficiency in Excel, and familiarity with ERP systems like QAD or SAP. Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or similar tools is a plus
Fluency in English is mandatory
Proven ability to drive change and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
Detail and goal-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and completeness.
Strong analytical skills, particularly in working with large datasets and complex processes.
A proactive mindset with a focus on challenging the status quo and driving business performance improvements.
Travel requirements
• Less than 10% domestic/international travel required
