Responsible for defining, managing, and implementing manufacturing processes for new products and transfer processes, optimizing the resources needed to ensure these processes are consistent, delivering parts according to customer specifications, and planning, organizing, coordinating, and controlling the resources, activities, and deadlines necessary to achieve project objectives, ensuring an efficient transition from the design and development stage to the mass production. This position is responsible for coordinating the validation, manufacturing and standardization processes, ensuring that products meet quality, cost and deadline requirements, delivering on time, on budget and with the expected quality, minimizing risks and maximizing value for the organization and stakeholders.

Our Team

The NPI Process Engineer position has a direct impact on the development of new business through the design and creation of assembly processes for new products, being responsible from the basic and detailed design phase to the manufacture of cables and harnesses. acts as a liaison between design, engineering, production and suppliers, identifying risks, proposing technical solutions and implementing improvements that ensure robust and sustainable deployment in the manufacturing environment. They work daily with the Product Development, New Product Introduction and Production teams to evaluate, design and execute the development of new products according to the client's standards, complying with SQPC (Safety, Quality, Production and Cost) policies and systems

What You Will Do

  • Define a robust and cost-effective process flow with accurate manufacturing costs for all design requests related to connector, cable, or harness manufacturing.
  • Conduct effective feasibility studies in manufacturing along with PD, NPI, and production equipment as per criteria.
  • Problem-solving in the scientific approach using engineering tools, scientific approach, tolerance analysis, SPC, DOE, and Six Sigma techniques.
  • It plays a leading role in improving the productivity and quality of connectors, cable, and harness manufacturing.
  • Participates in design reviews and performing thorough design for manufacturing, to mitigate all concerns related to design and PFMEA reviews of all assembly parts, as well as address all potential failures, suggest/implement corrective actions.
  • Leadership and supervision of activities and agreements in NPI projects through the PDP.
  • Participates in assembly development by coordinating with the internal development team, deriving tooling requirements, including controls, Poka-Yoke, and cycle time. Communicate effectively with the internal tool development team.
  • Develop and update the project plan for each part number, check back frequently with the team. Gets management support when project deadlines are critical, or department support isn't enough.
  • It ensures that the new product development process meets the requirements of the PDP process at every stage, drives corrective and preventive actions for all concerns related to the assembly process. Interact with Molex's various engineering centers to obtain the information needed to develop the product/process.
  • Understand, support and contribute to compliance with the PBM Philosophy, the different Quality Management standards in which the company is certified, in Safety and Hygiene, in environmental management systems, Six Sigma, RBA (Responsible Business Alliance) and CTPAT/OAS following the established policies and procedures.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering
  • 5 years of experience at NPI as minimum
  • Strong experience in cable assembly
  • Advanced English
  • SAP
  • Knowledge in manufacturing process design
  • Experience in quotes for new products and launches
  • Proficiency in NPI, APQP, PPAP methodologies, and product/process validations
  • Project management and coordination of cross-functional teams
  • Effective communication and leadership influence the different levels of the organization

What Will Put You Ahead

  • 6 years or more of experience at NPI
  • in PMP, Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing
