This position functions as a Senior Virtualization Engineer with deep expertise in VMware virtualization technologies, compute hardware, and public cloud environments. The successful candidate must demonstrate advanced proficiency in the installation, configuration, administration, troubleshooting, and business continuity of global virtualization platforms.

The role requires extensive knowledge of enterprise hardware systems, including diverse server platforms and bare-metal technologies. In addition, expert-level capability in the installation, support, and troubleshooting of multiple server operating systems is essential.

This individual must be capable of supporting a global, 24x7 operational environment, ensuring high availability, performance, and reliability of critical infrastructure services.

Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, maintain, and support enterprise virtualization infrastructure.
  • Administer and support Cisco UCS and Dell server platforms, including hardware and firmware management.
  • Deploy, configure, and maintain VMware technologies, including vSphere, vCenter, VCF, and ESXi.
  • Implement and administer VMware environments, including NSX and hosting platforms.
  • Manage and support cloud environments across AWS and Azure.
  • Troubleshoot complex hardware and hypervisor issues; collaborate with internal teams and vendors to drive resolution.
  • Analyze system requirements and provide recommendations for capacity planning, performance tuning, and resource optimization.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including design, configuration, and installation procedures.
  • Coordinate escalations and provide support for projects and operational issues, including after-hours as needed.
  • Manage and resolve requests through the virtualization queue within the service management system.
  • Adhere to change management processes for system upgrades and operational changes.

Additional Responsibilities / Qualifications:

  • Extensive experience in virtualization system engineering within mid-to-large enterprise data center environments.
  • Strong system engineering expertise in VMware and Windows Server platforms.
  • Expert-level experience with VMware vSphere (vCenter, VCF, ESXi), including installation, implementation, performance monitoring, optimization, and troubleshooting.
  • Advanced configuration and management of clustering features such as HA, Vmotion, and DRS.
  • Proficient in storage configuration, including datastores, RDMs, and storage policies.
  • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills within ESXi environments.
  • Experience with virtualization migrations, including P2V (physical-to-virtual) and V2V (virtual-to-virtual).
  • Solid understanding of disaster recovery strategies and methodologies in virtualized environments.
  • Working knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure.
  • Experience with VMware PowerCLI scripting and automation.
  • Familiarity with VMware solutions such as vSphere Replication, SRM, vRealize Automation/Orchestration, and NSX (preferred).
  • Experience with storage protocols including NFS, iSCSI, Fiber Channel, and SMB.
  • Basic understanding of Kubernetes/Tanzu and container technologies.
  • Proficiency in installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and maintenance of Windows Server (2016–2025) and Linux systems.
  • Strong understanding of IP networking and related protocols.

Qualifications

Minimum Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor degree required

Minimum Experience Requirements:

  • 5+ years of progressively responsible experience in related roles

Other Requirements:

  • Preferred certifications include VCP-DCV, VCP-VCF, and/or VCAP.
  • Excellent customer service skills across in-person, phone, and written communication.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in team environments.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and multitasking skills.
  • Willingness to work onsite at the Bangalore, India office at least three days per week.

Work Mode & Shift Timing:

  • Work Mode: Hybrid (3 days in a week WFO)
  • Shift: Rotational shift (including Night shift)
