About the role:
This role is based in Taipei and closely collaborates with QA and Engineeirng teams in Warsaw, Poland. You will work on Smart TV and Set‑ Top Box platforms used by global OEM partners, validating real devices and embedded systems in production‑ grade environments.
As a Senior Software QA Engineer, you will take ownership of quality across embedded platforms, with a strong focus on release readiness, hardware validation and coordination of testing activities across distributed teams across Europe (Poland, Sweden, Romania), America and APAC, working directly with OEM and ODM partners.
What you will get to do:
Own and drive firmware validation before Mainboard Mass Production (MB MP) – a critical stage directly impacting production readiness of Smart TV devices
Lead verification and analysis of functional issues reported by APAC partners, including reproduction, clarification and root cause identification
Support OEMs and ODMs in functional and integration topics, acting as a key contact point for technical discussions
Participate in hardware validation, including testing of prototypes and triaging configuration or provisioning issues
Coordinate release activities, including build verification, sanity checks, evaluation builds and change log preparation
Define and extend test scenarios for new features, OEM‑ specific solutions and hardware variants
Validate new release initiatives in collaboration with other QA teams
Coordinate testing processes across distributed teams across Europe (Poland, Sweden, Romania), America and APAC
Analyse test execution and automation results and ensure proper follow‑ up
Drive continuous improvement and support standardization of QA processes
Mentor and support less experienced engineers
Coordinate shipment and logistics of hardware samples
Who we are looking for:
Main requirements for the role:
Minimum 5 years of experience in Software Testing
Strong understanding of QA processes, methodologies and best practices
Experience working with embedded systems (Smart TV, STB or similar platforms)
Experience working close to hardware (device integration, debugging, configuration)
Ability to analyse complex system behaviours across software and hardware layers
Experience with test case creation, defect tracking and reporting
Knowledge of tools: JIRA / Confluence / Xray
Experience working with external stakeholders partners (OEMs / ODMs)
Strong ownership, proactiveness and mentoring mindset
Good working knowledge of English, written and spoken
Good knowledge of Chinese
You are already located in Taiwan and have a visa to stay
Nice to have:
Understanding of digital TV standards and broadcast technologies (e.g. DVB, QAM‑ B, MPEG‑ TS or similar)
Knowledge of streaming technologies and protocols (e.g. HLS, DASH, DRM concepts)
Experience working in distributed/global teams
Basic knowledge of AI‑ assisted testing approaches
ISTQB certification
Knowledge of UNIX based systems
Experience with automation tools (Jenkins / Selenium)
Basic programming skills (Python)
