Job Title: Senior Engineer - New Product Introduction (NPI) Location: Mysore Organization: Cyient DLM Limited Experience: 8-10 Years Education Bachelor's Degree in Electronics Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, or equivalent. Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Engineer - NPI (New Product Introduction) to lead the end-to-end product industrialization process from prototype development through mass production. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in electronics manufacturing, process development, manufacturing readiness, and cross-functional project execution. This role will be responsible for ensuring seamless transfer of products from engineering development to manufacturing while meeting quality, cost, and delivery objectives. Key Responsibilities NPI Project Management Own the end-to-end NPI process from project kick-off through series production. Develop and manage NPI build plans, schedules, milestones, and production readiness reviews. Coordinate prototype, pilot, engineering validation, and pre-production builds. Drive successful transition of products from development to manufacturing. Manufacturing Readiness Ensure readiness of materials, tooling, fixtures, test equipment, manufacturing programs, and documentation prior to builds. Collaborate with Design, Quality, Supply Chain, and Production teams to achieve product launch targets. Validate manufacturing processes and build methodologies for volume production. Process Development & Improvement Establish and optimize manufacturing processes including: SMT Assembly PCBA Manufacturing Mechanical Assembly Product Testing Packaging Processes Identify opportunities for yield improvement, cost reduction, and cycle-time optimization. Lead root cause analysis and implementation of corrective and preventive actions. Quality & Compliance Develop and maintain: Process Flow Diagrams PFMEA (Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) Control Plans Work Instructions Manufacturing SOPs Support APQP, PPAP, FAI, and product qualification activities. Ensure compliance with quality standards and customer requirements. Cross-Functional Collaboration Act as the primary interface between Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Procurement, and Suppliers during product launch. Drive issue resolution during prototype and pilot builds. Conduct build reviews and provide status updates to stakeholders. Required Technical Skills Strong understanding of electronic product manufacturing and industrialization. Hands-on experience with Prototype, Pilot, Pre-production, and Mass Production builds. Ability to interpret: Product Drawings Schematics BOMs (Bill of Materials) Assembly Documentation Experience with: SMT Processes PCBA Manufacturing Mechanical Assembly Functional Testing Packaging Operations Strong knowledge of: PFMEA Control Plan Process Flow FAI PPAP APQP Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement methodologies. Desired Competencies Strong project management and organizational skills. Excellent problem-solving and analytical capabilities. Effective stakeholder management and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple NPI projects simultaneously. Strong ownership mindset with a focus on execution and results. Preferred Qualifications Experience in Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS), Consumer Electronics, Industrial Electronics, IoT Devices, or Automotive Electronics. Exposure to ERP/MRP systems and Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES). Certification in APQP, Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or PMP is an added advantage.
