KBR is looking for Sr. Engineer, Mechanical with Onshore Site project experience in MEGA EPC projects to be based in Abu Dhabi for PMC project.
3. JOB PURPOSE
Provide Mechanical Engineering support to Site and other Front Line teams for Operation Engineering and day-to-day technical requirements, identify bottlenecks and provide mitigation measures, validate and manage all Plant Modification and Engineering Work Requests including follow-up with Central Engineering for Engineering Package for the same, and support to execute Projects/Minor Works.
4. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Job Specific Accountabilities
- Provide efficient engineering services and solutions to Front Line teams to meet Company's Oil & Gas Production targets and to improve performance, reduce outage, improve operating efficiency (SIMOPS, flaring, chemicals, shutdown, etc.) and enhance integrity of Plants and Equipment.
- Support Site Operations related to equipment/facility Performance Test and Maximum Capacity/Field Technical Rate Test to establish full operating envelope and identify potential bottlenecks and necessary mitigation measures.
- Review and analyse plant production and performance data and initiate proactive actions to solve any issues related to current operation & capacity constraints.
- Participate, as needed, in various workshops such as 3D Model review, constructability review, Material Handling etc. and Safety Studies & Risk Assessments such as studies HAZOP, HAZID, QRA, PHSER, HSEIA, FERA, EERA, workshop, etc.
JOB
- Provide technical support to Maintenance support for activities like major overhaul, refurbishment, replacement, shutdown, etc.) And for purchasing equipment/material and other stock items (not requiring Eng. Package).
- Support Project Operations Interface team for brownfield/greenfield projects and Oil & Gas Team for production planning, capacity tests, trials between upstream/downstream and crude oil allocations.
- Participate in the development of Operation and Maintenance Procedures, Method Statements, and Plant Operating Manual.
- Ensure engineering support during various stages of Minor Works/Projects implemented by ASSET (ITT, Technical Bid Evaluation, review & approval of contractor’s deliverables, commissioning assistance, etc.).
- Offer technical support to review Asset Replacement Plan and re-phasing, if any, in support with other functions i.e., Integrity, Operations, Reliability, HSE, etc.
- Support in development and updating of Terminals’ Master Plan in coordination with all stakeholders.
- Provide technical support for implementation and managing Corrosion Management, Energy Management, Operations Integrity etc. for Asset and interface with corresponding company Focal point & Site.
- Participate in developing Service Level Agreements with other OPCOs.
- Validate/verify Plant Modification Requests & Engineering Work Requests before sending to the Central Engineering (CED) for further study.
- Provide Mechanical Engineering support during ITT, Bid evaluation, execution, pre-commissioning, commissioning and hand over to Site.
- Provide input to Budget Request (BR) and Authorization for Expenditure (AFE).
- Participate in Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), Site Acceptance Test (SAT), Performance Test etc. as required.

- Plan, supervise and coordinate all activities in the assigned area to meet functional objectives.
- Train and develop the assigned staff on relevant skills to enable them to become proficient on the job and deliver the respective section objectives.

- Provide input for preparation of the Section / Department budgets and assist in the implementation of the approved Budget and work plans to deliver Section objectives.
- Investigate and highlight any significant variances to support effective performance and cost control

- Implement approved Section / Department policies, processes, systems, standards and procedures in order to support execution of the Section’s / Department work programs in line with Company and International standards.
Performance Management
- Contribute to the achievement of the approved Performance Objectives for the Section / Department in line with the Company Performance framework.
Innovation and Continuous Improvement
- Design and implement new tools and techniques to improve the quality and efficiency of operational processes.
- Identify improvements in internal processes against best practices in pursuit of greater efficiency in line with ISO standards in order to define intelligent solutions for issues confronting the function.

- Comply with relevant HSE policies, procedures & controls and applicable legislation and sustainability guidelines in line with international standards, best practices and ADNOC Code of Practices.
Reports
- Provide inputs to prepare Section MIS and progress reports for Company Management.
5. COMMUNICATIONS & WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:
Internal
- Daily contact with Site teams to discuss and agree upon actions required for core business.
- Regular contact with Line Manager and Senior Management to discuss and agree upon actions required for core business.
- Regular contact with Integrated Planning and Oil/Gas Co-ordination team for business planning and co- ordination.
- Frequent contact with relevant upstream Business Units to ensure smooth, efficient, optimized and safe operation that meet best industrial design, engineering and operation practices.
- Regular contacts with support units like Integrity, Strategy/Corporate Support, HSE, Commercial, Finance, Central Engineering, Projects and other HQ-based teams to facilitate business related activities.
External
- Regular contact with Consultants, Contractors and Vendors regarding implementation of Projects and Minor Works.
- Occasional contact with counterparts from ADNOC, other OPCO's and Concession Holders to exchange information/ expertise and to co-ordinate shared & related activities.
6. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
Minimum Qualification
- Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
Minimum Experience & Knowledge & Skills
- 15 years’ experience in Mechanical Engineering job with a major Oil and Gas Company / Engineering consultancy/ EPC Contractor dealing with mechanical engineering equipment such as piping, vessels, tanks, static equipment, storage tanks, pipelines etc.
- Fluent in written and spoken English.
