About This Role

ASrEngineer I/IIinAutomation & MES is a key member of the RTP Bio Automation & MES team, supporting both day-to-day manufacturing operations and large-scale capital and improvement projects. This role provides technical leadership forDeltaVandSyncadeMES systems, partnering cross-functionally to design, implement, and sustain robust automation solutions that enable safe, compliant, and efficient biopharmaceutical manufacturing.

WhatYou’llDo

  • Provide technical leadership and hands-on support forDeltaVandSyncadeMES systems across development, validation, and production environments

  • Design, implement, andmaintainsoftware solutions and interfaces with systems such as PI Historian, Oracle, CMMS, Veeva, LIMS, and other enterprise platforms

  • Author, review, and approve automation and MES documentation, including design specifications, test protocols, and lifecycle documents

  • Execute and own change controls for validated automation systems in compliance with site and quality requirements

  • Troubleshoot automation and MES issues to support manufacturing operations, including participation in an on-call rotation

  • Collaborate with Quality, Manufacturing, and Engineering teams to define validation strategies and ensure alignment across deliverables

  • Lead or support medium to large automation projects with minimal direction

  • Mentor and train junior engineers while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives across the automation function

Required Skills for a Sr Engineer I: 93,000-121,000 pay range

  • Bachelor’sdegree inengineeringfrom an accredited collegeor university

  • At minimum4 years of experiencein automation engineering

  • Hands-on exposure to DeltaV and/or Syncade recipe authoring

  • Strong experience with validated systems, including documentation and change control execution

  • Ability to troubleshoot complex automation software and hardware issues

Required Skills for a Sr Engineer II: 107,000-143,000 pay range

  • Bachelor’sdegree inengineeringfrom an accredited collegeor university

  • At minimum 6 years of experiencein automation engineering

  • Proven proficiency with DeltaV and/or Syncade recipe authoring

  • Strong experience with validated systems, including documentation and change control execution

  • Ability to troubleshoot complex automation software and hardware issues

  • Experience developing and leading design philosophy and standardization across DeltaV and/or Syncade MES systems

Preferred Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree inAutomation, Electrical, Chemical,orMechanical Engineeringfrom an accredited college or university

  • Experiencein automation engineeringsupporting manufacturing operations in a large-scale biotech or pharmaceutical environment

  • Experience working with bothDeltaVandSyncadeMES platforms

  • Familiarity with batch reporting, MES design principles, and review-by-exception concepts

  • Experience supporting technology transfer, capital projects, or site-wide improvements

  • Prior experience mentoring or training junior engineers

Additional Information

The base compensation range for this role is: $93,000.00-$143,000.00


Base salary offered is determined through an analytical approach utilizing a combination of factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills & experience, job location, and internal equity.
