About the role:   
We are looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer with a proven track record in database administration to join our team and take ownership of our CI/CD infrastructure, developer tooling, and database operations. In this role, you'll be responsible for maintaining and optimizing our Jenkins build clusters, managing developer tooling, and supporting database reliability across our production systems. You'll work closely with development and data teams to enhance build and deploy pipelines, ensure database performance and availability, and drive operational improvements. 
  
You will be modernizing our infrastructure by migrating to the cloud and implementing automation, containerization, and infrastructure-as-code practices — while also bringing DBA discipline to areas like schema management, backup strategies, query optimization, and access control. 
  
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on infrastructure work, is comfortable operating at the intersection of DevOps and database engineering, values reliability and automation, and wants to deepen their expertise in cloud-native environments. 
What you’ll get to do: 
  • Maintain and improve multiple Jenkins clusters (distributed builds, pipeline configuration, plugin management) 
  • Manage and optimize Linux-based VMs hosting development tools and services 
  • Collaborate with development teams on schema migrations, query optimization, and database access patterns 
  • Enforce database security practices including access controls, secrets management, and audit logging 
  • Gradually modernize our infrastructure (IaC, containerization, cloud adoption — including migration to managed database services) 
  • Automate operational tasks using Bash and Python scripting 
  • Collaborate with development teams to improve build and deployment pipelines 
  • Maintain standards of security, reliability, and performance 
  
Who we are looking for: 
Must have: 
  • 4+ years of experience in DevOps, DBA, or infrastructure engineering roles 
  • Solid database administration experience with PostgreSQL and/or MySQL: provisioning, performance tuning, backup/restore, replication, and failover 
  • Linux administration skills (Ubuntu/CentOS/RHEL) in production environments 
  • Experience with managed database services (Cloud SQL, RDS, or equivalent) 
  • Experience managing Jenkins clusters and pipeline configuration 
  • Experience managing schema migrations and collaborating with developers on query optimization and data access patterns 
  • Proficiency in scripting and task automation with Bash or Python 
  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills for infrastructure and database issues 
  • Experience supporting development teams and understanding of the SDLC 
  
Nice to have: 
  • Experience with infrastructure as code tools (Terraform, Ansible, Puppet, Chef) 
  • Familiarity with AWS services (EC2, S3, IAM, VPC, CloudWatch) or other cloud platforms equivalents 
  • Experience with monitoring and observability solutions (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack, Datadog) 
  • VM and hypervisor management (VMware, KVM, VirtualBox)
