The Role:
The Gas Purificationsection of APShasincreasingneedofControl Systems Engineersto support the diverse existing and emerging technology platforms as well as evolving customer demandsThis position isa seniorCSE position. It is expected that this individual will not only be an individualcontributor, butalso be a team spokesperson forinterfacingregularly with the US team.
In this role you will:
The Senior ControlSystemsEngineeris responsible fordesigning, developing, and implementing advanced control systems and automation solutions for industrial processes. This role involves leading projects, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards, andoptimizingsystem performance to improve efficiency and reliability
Responsibilities
Design & Development:
Develop PLC, HMI, and SCADA systems for industrial automation.
Create electrical schematics and control panel layouts using CAD tools.
Designing new systems from scratch with functional process design
Programming & Integration:
Program and troubleshoot PLCs (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, etc.), HMIs, and motion control systems.
Integrate sensors, actuators, and instrumentation into automated systems.
Troubleshooting, making changes to existing systems on production floor (hardware & software)
Support Field Service Engineers in commissioning & post-sales activities
Project Leadership:
Lead automation projects from concept through commissioning.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (mechanical, electrical, software).
Leadership/mentorship of other team members
Attending multi-functional meetings,representingTeam
Testing & Commissioning:
Perform FAT (Factory Acceptance Testing) and SAT (Site Acceptance Testing).
Ensure systems meet performance, safety, and compliance standards.
Optimization & Maintenance:
Analyze system performance and implement improvements.
Provide technical support and training for maintenance teams.
Documentation:
Prepare detailed technical documentation, including wiring diagrams, control logic, and user manuals.
Traits we believe make a strong candidate:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Mechatronics, or relatedfield
Experience:
7+ years in industrial automation andcontrolsengineering.
Strong experience with PLC programming (Rockwell, Siemens), SCADA systems, and industrial networks (EtherNetIP, Modbus, Profibus).
Process Industry experience (chemical,metallurgicaletc.)
Skills:
Proficiencyin electrical design software (AutoCAD, EPLAN, SolidWorks).
Knowledge of industrial standards (NFPA 79, IEC 61131, IEC 61508, OSHA, etc.).
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Preferred:
Experience in robotics, motion control, and Industry 4.0 technologies.
Familiarity with MES and ERP integration.
Experience with Safety Instrumented Systems desired
Control Systems PE will be a plus
