As a Sr Engineer on the Cybersecurity AI Activation and Engineering team you will design and deliver AI-powered capabilities that align with Target's engineering and security standards.A primary focus will be building automated capabilities for external attack-surface reconnaissance, management, and safe security validation. If you have a background in external attack-surface management, offensive security, network security testing, or security engineering—and a passion for AI—this is a great role for you.We will need you to provide subject matter expertise for the team, help refine capability requirements, and test competing approaches, while managing the risk of testing benefits against the risks of stability impacts.
Successful candidates will have hands on experience and a strong understanding of offensive-security principles, application security principles and secure software development practices You will partner with security and engineering teams to design solutions that are secure by design while leveraging modern AI capabilities to improve analyst productivity and operational efficiency. You will apply your technical expertise to evaluate, prototype, and implement current and emerging AI technologies—including Agentic AI frameworks, agentic workflow automation, and tool orchestration.
You will work cross functionally across teams to provide thought leadership to promote re-use and develop consistent, scalable patterns. Participate in planning services and applications that have broad impact. You will be looked upon to provide suggestions for handling routine and moderately complex technical problems, escalating issues when appropriate, and providing subject matter expertise inexternal attack-surface reconnaissance, network and service enumeration, security-tool automation, and safe vulnerability validation

About you:
•Bachelor's degree in Computer Science Engineering, Cybersecurity or equivalent
practical experience.
•3+ years of experience in offensive security, network security testing, external attack-
surface management, security engineering, or related work.
•Hands-on experience in Offensive Security, with demonstrated expertise in external
asset discovery, DNS and network enumeration, service identification, technology
fingerprinting, vulnerability assessment, and safe, scope-controlled security testing.
•Experience building or integrating security tools using Python, Go, Bash, or a
comparable language.
•Interest in applying AI and Agentic AI capabilities to cybersecurity use cases, with a
demonstrated ability and willingness to rapidly learn and experiment with emerging
technologies..
•Demonstrated history of rapid prototyping, iterative development, and close
collaboration with internal customers.
•Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills and cross-functional
collaboration skills
