The Senior Engineering Specialist is primarily responsible for using computer aided design tools to provide support in determining the best technical approach for developing solutions by applying creativity with design concepts. This support will be provided and following the latest drafting and CAD modeling standards and processes. The candidate will participate in the development of such standards and practices to meet or exceed industry standards for the above including 3D Model Based Design, Product Data Management (PDM) and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems. In addition, the candidate will be expected to assist with Model Based Enterprise efforts as applicable, with a proactive focus on continuous improvement initiatives.
Planning, developing and documenting conceptual and detailed product design information by creating CAD models, drawings and schematics; Assist with Change Notice creation and implementation; Perform tolerance studies; Assist with root cause analysis efforts; Collaborate with other departments, suppliers, customers and locations as needed; Active participant in safety related topics; Active participant in continuous improvement initiatives
Experienced with the following:
Proficient in the use of the latest Creo 10.0 and above, associated CAD file management (Intralink/Windchill) and other applicable hardware and software to perform in position
Awareness of latest industry standards as it relates to model based design
Able to manage priorities and complete tasks in accordance with project requirements and milestones
Able to discuss technical issues and communicate effectively with engineers, designers, management and other functions
