Duties & Responsibilities
Pre-Design Engineering
Perform field surveys for electrical system design and prepare site assessment reports.
Prepare electrical schematic designs.
Design Engineering
Design power single line and riser diagrams.
Perform electrical calculations (arc flash, coordination, short circuit, voltage drop, load flow) using ETAP/SKM.
Select lighting fixtures and power equipment.
Perform lighting and power circuiting.
Design and coordinate lighting control systems.
Prepare fire alarm device layouts based on International Fire Code and NFPA 72.
Develop fire alarm riser diagrams, calculations, and sequence of operations.
Prepare enlarged plans, elevations, schedules, and details.
Utilize CAD/BIM standards effectively.
Apply California Electrical Code and Energy Standards for medium- and low-voltage systems.
Coordinate with mechanical, plumbing, telecom, civil, structural, and architectural teams.
Edit and update project specifications.
Project Management
Manage multiple large-scale projects with senior engineers and sub-consultants.
Provide mentorship to design engineers.
Prepare client proposals independently.
Develop new business and maintain strong relationships with existing clients.
Construction Administration
Review and respond to RFIs.
Review equipment submittals.
Perform punch walks and prepare punch list reports.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education & Licenses
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
Registered Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
Experience
Minimum 10 years of professional electrical engineering experience
Proven ability to lead electrical design projects and manage design teams.
Demonstrated project management capability.
Skills & Technical Knowledge
Proficient with AutoCAD, ETAP/SKM, and Revit.
Familiarity with HCAI requirements.
Highly self-motivated, detail-oriented, and comfortable in a fast-paced environment.
Strong organizational and record-keeping skills.
