Team Summary:

A unique opportunity exists to join Visa and the IPVMC (Indonesia, Philippines, Vietnam, Myanmar & Cambodia) cluster, one of Asia Pacific's, and the world's, fastest growing commerce and digital payments ecosystems. The Strategy and Business Transformation function oversees medium to long term strategy development, supports cross-functional teams in executing that strategy, drives thought leadership and ensures successful ongoing business operations. The team also partners with corporate functions within Visa to develop and enhance best practices leveraging the full suite of expertise that the business requires, such as Marketing, Legal, Finance, Technology, Risk, People, Client Services and Communications.

What a Sr Director, Strategy and Business Transformation – Vietnam does at Visa:

The Sr Director will be entrusted with a broad portfolio of responsibilities to accelerate growth, drive and mitigate both short and long-term opportunities and challenges to ensure the country’s business performance is optimized.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Country and Functional leadership teams within Vietnam, as well as their broader teams across the region, to understand market landscapes, Visa Strategy, and assist with Go-to-Market (GTM) priority initiatives that can help accelerate growth in their respective markets, and execute on those key strategic initiatives, including but not limited to: business/market expansion, organizational re-design, multi-year strategic planning, capability building and GTM plans.

The successful candidate will also work in close collaboration with the corporate functions, to develop and manage scorecards and targets, performance management measures and metrics, and develop reporting and executive communication formats and cadences, therefore validating the efficacy of our strategy and its execution. This position will report to the Vice President (VP), Head of Strategy and Business Transformation, IPVMC.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate the country’s strategic plans through thoughtful analysis of market developments, opportunities & threats and recommendation of key strategies to be implemented
  • Drive the overall country’s strategy execution by leading the annual prioritization process and implementing a strategy PMO framework to enhance execution discipline of defined priorities and account plans
  • Lead the strategic dissemination of objectives across country and account levels, ensuring alignment with organizational vision
  • Maintain a strong understanding of the business and the local market landscape to provide solid foundational context for critical strategic projects
  • Oversee monthly performance tracking through the development and monitoring of comprehensive scorecards to drive accountability, strategic insight, and continuous improvement
  • Collaborate with the Sales Excellence team to ensure optimal client coverage, world-class sales discipline/performance management and an effective sales operating model within the location
  • Partner with Finance and People teams on business planning, including workforce/location planning, budget management, KPI monitoring, operational and process improvements
  • Establish and maintain the appropriate governance for evaluation of investments and expense management in general, assuring profitable growth and optimal resource allocation
  • Work cross-functionally, ensuring close coordination with AP and market BPOs. This includes development of market visit materials, curation of updates from the cluster for Visa's quarterly Earnings calls and other forums (All Staffs, EC Reports, Board Notes, etc.)

Visa requires at least 3 days in office, expectations of these days will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.

Qualifications

What you will need:
Professional Experience:

  • Minimum 15 years of relevant experience, with at least 3+ years’ experience in management consulting or strategy function preferred
  • Experience in and/or significant exposure to the payments industry or retail strategy experience preferred.

Stakeholder Management and Executive Communication:

  • Proven ability to independently structure, lead, and manage projects with multiple workstreams and stakeholders, demonstrating leadership success across various functional business problems.
  • Strong personal presence with excellent communication skills, capable of delivering compelling messages to senior managers and external business partners.
  • Highly adaptable and collaborative, with the ability to engage across cultures, languages, and time zones. Excellent presentation skills, both oral and written.


Data-Driven Leadership and Analytical Expertise:

  • Superior analytical and problem-solving skills, with proven intellectual and analytical rigor, attention to detail and ability to structure and analyse sophisticated financial modelling.
  • Exceptional report modelling and data management skills with the ability to work with substantial amounts of data and organize in a logical and efficient manner using various reporting and analytical tools.
  • Ability to prioritize deliverables and projects to meet timelines efficiently, to adapt to changes in priorities quickly.
  • Robust ability to represent data visually and construct high-quality presentations that effectively convey actionable insights.
