Job Description

The Why Behind Wellvana

The healthcare system isn't designed for health. We're designed to change that. We're Wellvana, and we help doctors deliver life-changing healthcare through advanced value-based care. We serve nearly a million patients across 40 states, and in 2024 our ACO partners generated $337M in savings to Medicare, more than any other MSSP ACO in the nation.

Wellvana is building a new function to bring solutions to life for our partners. As our portfolio of vendor-delivered solutions grows, we need a senior operator who can take a solution and own it end-to-end: from finding and vetting the right vendor, through contracting and launch, to the ongoing management that makes it deliver for partners over time.

This is a true owner's role. You will hold an assigned portfolio of vended solutions and be accountable for their full lifecycle, working shoulder-to-shoulder with the VP of Solution Innovation & Enablement to stand up the function and set the standard for how it operates. Because this is a new function at a company that is still scaling, the role rewards someone who is comfortable with ambiguity, builds structure where little exists today, and can move between setting up the function and running the day-to-day work of managing solutions.

You will start by taking ownership of a subset of our current solutions and may have a hand across the broader portfolio as we ramp. Over time, the goal is a clearly assigned book of solutions that you own outright.

What you'll own

  • End-to-end solution ownership. Own an assigned portfolio of vended solutions across their full lifecycle, from sourcing through steady-state management, with ongoing management as the core of the work.
  • Sourcing and evaluation. Identify and assess vendors against clear requirements: due diligence on references, financial viability, and security posture, and a defensible view of value.
  • Contracting and setup. Partner with Legal, Finance, and IT to land the right terms, service levels, data governance, and pricing, and to make each solution monitorable once live.
  • Deployment. Co-own partner go-live with Service Activation: build the implementation plan, define readiness and go-live criteria, and manage the launch to completion.
  • Ongoing management. Serve as the primary owner for each solution once live: vendor relationship management, service-level and performance monitoring, issue resolution, scorecards, and renewal or sunset decisions.
  • Standing up the function. Help create the processes, standard operating procedures, and tools that a new function needs, and help set the bar for how solution ownership works as the team grows.
  • Cross-functional partnership. Work closely with Med Econ, Clinical Operations, Clinical Enablement, Service Activation, and Partner Success to move solutions from idea to live and to keep them performing.
Requirements

What you bring

  • 10+ years of relevant experience. Candidates with deeper, more senior experience will be considered at the Senior Director level.
  • Deep experience in one of two areas, ideally both:
  • Healthcare / value-based care, with a strong grasp of how solutions get delivered to providers and patients, or
  • Vendor management, including sourcing, contracting, deployment, and ongoing vendor and performance management.
  • Ownership mindset. A track record of owning outcomes end-to-end with limited hand-offs, and the judgment to make good decisions with incomplete information.
  • Comfort with ambiguity. You do your best work in undefined space, bring structure to it, and are energized rather than frustrated by building something new.
  • Strong execution and project management. You can run a launch, hold vendors and timelines accountable, and keep multiple solutions moving at once.
  • Clear, credible communication. You can work as a peer across clinical, financial, technical, and partner-facing teams, and bring the right people together to make decisions.

Nice to have

  • Direct experience in Medicare, MSSP, ACO, or other value-based care models.
  • Procurement or contracting depth, including SLAs, data governance, and pricing structures.
  • Analytical and business-case skills, including ROI modeling for solution decisions.
  • Experience standing up a new function or team.

Growth

This role is an individual contributor to start, and will remain so as we scale deliberately. As the function and portfolio grow, there is potential to build and lead a small team.
