Job Description

The Sr. Director Sales – India is responsible for leading and growing CommScope’s company’s broadband business across India market. This role has full P&L ownership and oversees strategy, sales, operations, regulatory compliance, partnerships, and team leadership to drive sustainable growth, market penetration, and service excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

  • Develop and execute the country business strategy fully aligned with regional and global objectives.
  • Identify market opportunities in fixed broadband, wireless, enterprise connectivity, datacentre interconnect and digital services.
  • Drive market entry, expansion, and competitive positioning in the India telecom landscape.

P&L and Financial Management

  • Own full country P&L, budgeting, forecasting, and financial performance.
  • Optimize costs while ensuring service quality and profitability.
  • Ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with corporate governance standards.

Sales, Marketing & Growth

  • Lead national sales and marketing strategies for consumer, SME, and enterprise segments.
  • Build and manage strategic partnerships with ISPs, tower companies, system integrators, and distributors.
  • Oversee pricing, go-to-market plans, and customer acquisition strategies.

Operations & Network Oversight

  • Oversee network deployment, operations, and service delivery
  • Coordinate with engineering and vendors for infrastructure rollout and upgrades.

Regulatory & Government Relations

  • Manage relationships with key regulatory bodies
  • Ensure compliance with telecom regulations, licensing, and spectrum requirements.
  • Represent the company in industry forums and government engagements.

People & Organizational Leadership

  • Build, lead, and develop a high-performing local Go to Market team.
  • Drive a culture of accountability, innovation, and customer-centricity.
  • Ensure talent development, succession planning, and employee engagement.

Risk Management & Compliance

  • Identify and mitigate operational, regulatory, and commercial risks.
  • Ensure compliance with legal, data privacy, and cybersecurity requirements.

Key Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Telecommunications, or related field.
  • MBA or advanced degree preferred.

Experience

  • 12–15+ years of experience in the India telecom and broadband sectors.
  • Proven experience in a senior leadership role (Country Manager, GM, or Director level).
  • Strong background in P&L management, market expansion, and regulatory environments.
  • Experience and senior level relationships developed by working with terrestrial network, wireless, ISP, or mobile network operators in India is strongly preferred.

Skills & Competencies

  • Deep personal networks with the India service providers and operators
  • Strong strategic, commercial, and financial acumen.
  • Deep understanding of the India telecom and broadband markets.
  • Excellent leadership, customers negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work with government agencies and regulators.
  • Strong communication skills in English and Hindi is required.
