  • Sets architectural direction across infrastructure domains including Compute, Network, Storage, Mainframe, Large Midrange, distributed platforms, workload hosting, automation, observability, resiliency patterns, and operational control planes
  • Partners with DSS leadership, platform engineering, product management, and data architecture teams to translate business and technology capabilities into reusable platforms, APIs, datasets, data products, and architectural patterns with clear lifecycle management
  • Defines and enforces architecture standards and reusable patterns, including decision records, integration practices, service-level expectations, technology guardrails, naming conventions, and documentation expectations
  • Leads architecture design reviews; produces roadmaps; manages exceptions and waivers; and makes trade-offs across speed, cost, risk, resiliency, maintainability, and long-term strategic alignment
  • Embeds governance-by-design into delivery including ownership/RACI, controls traceability, access patterns, retention, lineage, operational readiness, resiliency, and auditability
  • Establishes measurable practices for architecture quality, reliability, resiliency, cost transparency, data quality/reconciliation, monitoring, and observability; ensures issues are triaged, root-caused, and prevented through architectural controls
  • Embeds AI readiness into DSS architecture through trusted data foundations, high-quality telemetry, responsible automation, model-safe integration patterns, and governance controls for emerging AI capabilities
  • Engages senior business and technology stakeholders across DSS, Infrastructure Platforms, Enterprise Architecture, risk, controls, information security, and product line teams to align priorities, communicate architecture strategy, and drive adoption
  • Provides hands-on delivery enablement for architects, senior engineers, and squads through reference designs, templates, best practices, and coaching to ensure solutions meet architectural intent
  • Champions the firm’s culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect for team members and prioritizes diverse representation

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • 10+ years of senior-level infrastructure architecture leadership experience in complex, regulated environments
  • Extensive senior-level infrastructure architecture leadership experience in complex, regulated environments, with demonstrated ownership of architecture strategy, standards, execution, governance, and adoption across multiple platforms and domains
  • Deep expertise across infrastructure architecture domains including Compute, Network, Storage, Mainframe, Large Midrange, distributed platforms, workload hosting, automation, observability, resiliency, and operational control planes
  • Experience modernizing complex technology estates, including legacy coexistence, migration, decommissioning, platform rationalization, technical debt reduction, and operational risk reduction
  • Strong architecture operating model experience (design reviews, reference architectures, architecture decision records, exception/waiver governance, reusable patterns) that scales across multiple squads
  • Strong understanding of data/integration architecture concepts (data domains, canonical models, data contracts, metadata/lineage, data quality, governance-by-design, analytical consumption patterns) and ability to partner effectively with data architecture teams
  • Demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders, resolve cross-team dependencies, communicate complex technical strategy clearly, and drive consistent adoption across matrixed organizations
  • Strong risk and control mindset, including information security, cyber resiliency, disaster recovery, auditability, records retention, data residency, least privilege, and operational readiness expectations

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Experience leading architecture for mission-critical, high-availability infrastructure platforms supporting payments, enterprise data platforms, trading, specialty services, or similar critical capabilities
  • Experience with platform engineering, hybrid infrastructure, internal developer platforms, service catalogs, self-service operating models, and enterprise-scale automation
  • Experience using telemetry/operational data and AI/ML techniques to improve resiliency, anomaly detection, incident prevention, capacity management, and cost optimization
  • Familiarity with retrieval-augmented generation patterns, model observability, AI governance, responsible AI controls, and practical enterprise use cases for AI-assisted engineering and operations
