Sr Director of Corporate Quality, Residential Manufacturing
The Sr Director of Corporate Quality for Residential Manufacturing serves as the voice of the customer of the Residential Division, ensuring products are launched, manufactured, sourced, and supported in a way that consistently meets customer expectations while protecting Shaw from quality, claims, and reputational risk. Reporting to the VP of Enterprise Excellence, this leader provides strategic and hands-on leadership across residential product quality, supplier quality, claims risk mitigation, and quality systems—driving measurable reductions in cost of poor quality, strengthening quality governance, and developing a strong quality leadership bench for the future. This role will work from our Dalton, GA corporate campus in a hybrid way ~3 days per week.
Responsibilities
Lead Residential Quality Strategy in partnership with the VP of Enterprise Excellence, serving as the primary quality leader for the Residential business andrepresentingthe voice of the customer in key business decisions.
Reduce Cost of Poor Quality and Claims Exposure byestablishingand enforcing controls that mitigate risk related to product performance, customer satisfaction, warranties, and large claims.
Own Quality Governance Across Made and Bought Products, including internally manufactured products as well as externally sourced products, sundries, and adhesives.
Ensure Robust Quality Systems and Controls across the Residential division, includingQuality Assurance of Design,Quality Assurance of Product,Quality Management Systems (SMS, ISO),Management of Change,Customer Experience feedback and field performance
Serve as a Gatekeeper for New Product Launches, partnering with R&D, Corporate Quality, and the business to ensure products meet customer expectations and regulatory requirements beforelaunch
Partnerwith Financial Services, Legal, and Manufacturing to troubleshoot,investigate, and resolve significant customer claims and quality events.
Lead and Review Executive Audits, ensuring findings are addressed and reviewed with senior leadership.
Analyze Quality, Waste, andClaimsData to set strategy, prioritize improvement efforts, and drive quality of earnings.
Provide Strategic Influence Acrossthe Enterprise, acting as a trusted advisor to Residentialleadership, Sales, Customer Experience, R&D, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Customer Service.
Coach and Develop Quality Leaders, ensuring effective performance management, workforce planning, succession planning, and leadership readiness.
Collaborate with Other Quality Directors to ensure alignment across Commercial, Residential, and Enterprise Quality priorities.
Maintain an Active Role on Strategic and Transformation Teams, particularly initiatives focused on quality, waste reduction, and customer satisfaction.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degreerequired; Engineering, Operations, or Industrial Management preferred.
Minimum5+ years of progressive quality leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
Demonstrated experience leadingdivisional,enterprise or corporate-level quality programs, not solely plant-level quality.
Strong working knowledge of quality systems and governance, including ISO-based systems, audits, corrective action, and management of change.
Proven ability to analyze complex data and communicate insights effectively to senior leaders and cross-functional partners.
Experience influencing without direct authority and standing firm on quality decisions in ambiguous, high-pressure environments.
Strong communicationskills with internal partners and external customers.
Proficiencywith standard business tools including spreadsheets, data analysis, and reporting software.
Ability to travel domestically and internationally asrequired; must be able to work effectively in manufacturing and supplier environments.
Highly Preferred Experiences
Quality leadership experiencerunning corporate quality programswithin building materials, building products, construction-related manufacturing, or adjacent industries serving residentialretail/home centercustomerssimilar toShaw.
Experience managing customer claims, warranty exposure, and field performance issues.
Background overseeing supplier quality and externally sourced products.
Experience leading quality efforts during business transformations, downturns, or high-change environments.
Prior responsibility for new product qualification and launch governance.
