We are looking for a strategic and innovative Marketing leader to join our Cell Biology team. The Cell Biology Business Unit is passionate about enabling our customers to harness the power of cells to improve human health through producing physiologically relevant models, robust protein expression factories, and innovative cell-based therapies. The business is made up of multiple business segments that represent the breadth of the Cell Biology workflow, with core focus areas that span cell culture, Neurobiology, Stem Cell research, ADME/TOX, Protein Expression, and Cell & Gene Therapy.

How will you make an impact?

As the Senior Director of Marketing role, you will lead the market development team, influencing and enabling regional marketers globally, and working with business segment leaders to facilitate strategic growth plans across the portfolio. Primary responsibilities include setting marketing strategies, developing marketing campaigns, and guiding the execution of supporting activities, including digital programs, live events, and sales enablement training and materials.

In support of our global marketing strategies, this leader is also responsible for the development and implementation of comprehensive digital marketing and eBusiness programs targeted at the core markets that we serve today, as well as market adjacencies that represent opportunities for expansion, and demonstrating new technology to improve the customer experience. This includes determining ways to effectively reach, engage, and monetize online scientists and researchers.

What will you do?

  • Develop and optimize high-performing teams through clear goals, role clarity, effective communication, collaboration, continuous learning, etc. to enable increased productivity and innovation.
  • Lead the development and implementation of industry leading marketing programs that support the overall Cell Biology business strategy and drive awareness, new customer acquisition, and revenue growth above targets. This includes working with key partners such as product management, eBusiness, regional marketing, and other commercial colleagues to develop compelling marketing strategies.
  • Develop and accelerate eCommerce and lead generation outcomes through digital channels. Specific areas of focus include: Omni-channel marketing (e.g., SEO, SEM, Social, email, web content, events), customer profiling, analytics, merchandising, and account-based marketing.
  • Be a champion for the customer experience and customer journey across our web platforms in collaboration with eBusiness. Ensure content, selection guides and other tools drive engagement and support conversion.
  • Define and implement successful commercialization strategies and models enabling new product introduction and adoption to achieve and exceed revenue targets.
  • Shape, communicate and implement long-term brand strategy and objectives to reinforce and expand brand loyalty in conjunction with corporate marketing.
  • Develop, refresh, and drive effective utilization of customer-facing marketing materials, including concepts, tool kits, collateral, and communication plans.
  • Lead our educational efforts, both online and offline working with FAS and Services division to improve trial, conversion, and affinity for our products and brands.

How will you get here?

Education

Bachelors, Master’s or Ph.D. degree in life science, engineering or marketing, and a minimum of 10 years relevant marketing leader experience in Life Sciences required.

Experience

  • Proven track record to build Life Science markets and significantly grow brand and demonstrated ability to drive digital demand.
  • Experience leading dedicated teams of 20-50 colleagues as well as extended teams that are matrixed.
  • Ability to scale influence across the organization at all levels and use continuous improvement and critical metric leadership tools, while setting and sustaining the highest standards of ethics and integrity, consistent with Thermo Fisher values.
  • Global and/or international experience.
  • Highly organized and ability to accomplish individual and team goals through effective project management skills.
  • Self-motivated, passionate, and a positive demeanor toward the job, the Company and their work team.
  • Ability to travel globally approximately 30% global travel, as conditions allow.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range estimated for this position based in California is $192,700.00–$289,000.00.

This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy. We offer a comprehensive Total Rewards package that our U.S. colleagues and their families can count on, which includes:
