Job Title: Senior Frozen Food/Dairy and Natural/Organic Department Director

Reports To: VP Center Store

The Sr. FF/Dairy and Natural/Organic Department Director must possess strong leadership skills. The position impacts all aspects of the FF/Dairy and Natural/Organic departments across all store locations; must develop associates and turn a profitable department. Investigate and resolve complaints regarding quality, quantity, and service. Prefer candidates with buying experience: grocery, mass merchandise, and/or chain drug.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead and develop a team of department managers across all company store locations
  • Managing every day and seasonal assortments of products for all store locations
  • Plan and execute advertising by regional market
  • Manage and execute all aspects of retail pricing for the FF/Dairy and Natural/Organic departments
  • Analyze market trends and drive new items
  • Monitor the department to ensure all safety standards are being met
  • Establish and execute standards for personnel performance, customer service, and in-store display
  • Manage the departments overall profitability to ensure it aligns with annual operating plan and adjust as needed
  • Responsible for annual forecasting and budgeting for the FF/Dairy and Natural/Organic Department
  • Responsible for Annual Operating Plan Compilation and Review for the FF/Dairy and Natural/Organic Department
  • Regular, timely attendance in compliance with the work schedule, and adequate notice to find a replacement for occasional absences.
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Proficiency in Servant Leadership practices.
  • Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, quantitative analysis, resource allocation, human resources, leadership techniques, coordination of people and resources.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office; Excel, Word, Outlook
  • Monitoring and assessing performance of self, other individuals, or organizations to make improvements or take corrective action.
  • Communicate information accurately and appropriately
  • Ability to travel within the state of WI, or up to 50% of the time
  • For our business operation, Saturdays are considered part of the work week

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • The associate must possess the ability to stand in place for long periods of time; walk in the store; bend, stoop and kneel regularly. Requires fine finger and broad manual dexterity, and eye-hand-foot coordination in order to operate equipment.
  • This position requires the associate have the ability to have full range of upper body motion in order to occasionally lift stock. Requires the ability to perform repetitive tasks for prolonged periods of time.
  • Must possess functional sensory abilities in order to visually monitor the store, create attractive displays, and to operate equipment.
  • Working conditions consist primarily of a temperature-controlled environment.

WORK SCHEDULE

The Sr. FF/Dairy and Natural/Organic Director is a full-time position. The work schedule may include mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
