The Senior Director, Digital Patient Access & Engagement provides enterprise leadership over My Health Online (MHO) and patient communication strategies that enable a seamless, digital-first patient experience. This role is responsible for defining and executing the strategic vision for digital access and engagement, while ensuring strong operational execution across teams that directly impact how patients interact with Sutter Health.

Serve as the leader and champion of digital program planning and operations that enable Sutter Health's strategic initiatives, performance improvement goals, and overall efficiencies across the enterprise. Assists in planning, investing, executing, and measuring the activities and operations of the digital organization; coordinates assigned activities with other departments and outside agencies/vendors. Drives digital strategic planning, vendor management, project and portfolio management, enterprise architecture, organizational change management, performance management, digital finance and digital talent management.

Serves as a cross-functional integrator (both within and outside of digital) and provides the leadership direction necessary for planning, implementation, and adoption of new technologies that result in cost-effective solutions, while assuring reliable integration into the Sutter Health technology eco-system. Responsible for overseeing the strategic direction and management of the entire system’s development lifecycle for enterprise applications, including both support services and implementations. This role ensures that all initiatives adhere to enterprise data and process standards, driving alignment across the organization. Where this job exists at a large affiliate, as defined as: Bay Foundation, Valley Foundation, CPMC, ABSMC, SMCS and OU roles, and reports to an Executive-Path leader, the title will be Executive.

EDUCATION:
Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma.

  • Bachelor's: Business Administration, Health Management, Information Systems, Organizational Development, Informatics, Industrial Engineering



TYPICAL EXPERIENCE:

  • 15 years of recent relevant experience



SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

  • Thorough knowledge of strategic planning, business planning, physician group management, and health care administration within an integrated system-based delivery organization
  • Sound understanding of health care operations including, but not limited to hospitals, clinics, medical offices, and information technology needs
  • Demonstrated team leadership, team building, and mentoring skills
  • Excellent written/verbal interpersonal communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with a broad and diverse group of customers, peers and sponsors
  • Lead presentations to persuade others to accept a specific opinion or action, or to provide information and instruction.
  • Analyze information, problems, situations, practices, or procedures to identify patterns, tendencies, and relationships resulting in the formulation of logical and objective conclusions

Pay Range is $195,561.60 to $312,915.20 / annual salary. Sacramento Valley Area Pay Range is $195,561.60 to $312,915.20 / annual salary. San Francisco Bay Area Pay Range is $222,227.20 to $355,576.00 / annual salary.

The compensation range may vary based on the geographic location where the position is filled. Total compensation considers multiple factors, including, but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure, certifications, departmental equity, training, and organizational needs. Base pay is only one component of Sutter Health’s comprehensive total rewards program. Eligible positions also include a comprehensive benefits package.
