In this strategic leadership role, you will serve as the bridge between Global Operations, Manufacturing & Operations leadership, and the Digital organization to define, modernize, and scale digital manufacturing capabilities. You will drive initiatives spanning smart factory solutions, manufacturing systems, data and analytics, automation, and AI-enabled technologies to improve productivity, quality, and business performance across Molex globally.

The successful candidate will help create a more connected, intelligent, and efficient manufacturing ecosystem, enabling data-driven decision making, accelerating innovation, and delivering sustainable business value through technology.

Our Team

As part of Molex's Digital organization, you will lead the Global Digital Manufacturing & Operations team and partner closely with Global Operations Capability leadership, divisional Manufacturing & Operations leaders, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and Enterprise Technology teams worldwide. This role has a global scope and significant influence on Molex's manufacturing strategy and digital transformation journey.

What You Will Do

The Senior Director, Digital Manufacturing & Operations (M&O) will serve as Molex's global technology leader for manufacturing and operational systems, responsible for developing and executing the digital strategy supporting production, quality, supply chain execution, engineering operations, and plant connectivity.

This leader will partner closely with:

• Global Operations Capability (GOC) Leadership
• Divisional, BU, and Plant M&O Leadership Teams
• Digital & Enterprise Technology Leadership, particularly ERP, Data & Analytics, Integration, Infrastructure, and Cyber security
• Operational Excellence, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, and Supply Chain organizations

The role requires a strong blend of strategic vision, operational understanding, manufacturing technology expertise, and leadership capability to drive digital transformation across a complex global manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic Leadership & Vision

• Establish and communicate the global vision for M&O digital capabilities.
• Aspire to revolutionize M&O with AI native mindset leadership
• Define and maintain a multi-year digital manufacturing roadmap aligned with Molex business, operations, and growth strategies.
• Lead the (rev)evolution of the manufacturing application landscape, including:

• Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES)
• Quality Management Systems (QMS)
• Material Management Systems (WMS/MMS)
• Labeling systems
• Production Planning and Scheduling
• Industrial IoT and Connected Factory solutions
• Operational Analytics and AI-enabled manufacturing capabilities

• Be an advocate for Enterprise Architecture and create a robust manufacturing data architecture aligned to it.
• Develop enterprise standards, governance models, and technology principles for manufacturing platforms.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and assess applicability across Molex's manufacturing footprint.
• Partner with divisional leaders to align local operational priorities with enterprise digital strategies.

2. Partnership & Collaboration

• Serve as the primary Digital business partner to Global Operations Capability leadership.
• Build strong relationships with divisional M&O leaders across Molex's business units.
• Collaborate closely with enterprise architects, infrastructure teams, cybersecurity teams, data organizations, and application leaders.
• Engage early in operational planning cycles to identify opportunities where technology can improve efficiency, quality, throughput, and customer satisfaction.
• Facilitate alignment between enterprise platforms and divisional business requirements.
• Act as a trusted advisor to manufacturing executives on technology investments and priorities.

3. Manufacturing Systems Governance & Architecture

• Lead governance and lifecycle management for global manufacturing systems and platforms.
• Ensure alignment with enterprise architecture standards, cybersecurity policies, and data governance requirements.
• Establish decision frameworks for platform selection, integration, modernization, and retirement.
• Drive standardization where profitable while balancing divisional and regional requirements.
• Define and oversee system integration strategies between manufacturing platforms and enterprise applications including:

• ERP
• PLM
• MES
• QMS
• MMS and WMS
• Data & Analytics platforms

4. Manufacturing Data & Analytics

• Partner with business and digital leaders to establish a scalable operational data strategy.
• Drive the adoption of manufacturing analytics, operational dashboards, and performance monitoring capabilities.
• Enable plant-level and enterprise-wide reporting across:
  • Safety
  • Quality
  • Delivery
  • Productivity
  • Inventory
  • Cost
• Support AI and advanced analytics initiatives that improve production effectiveness, predictive maintenance, yield optimization, and supply chain performance.
• Establish governance frameworks that ensure manufacturing data quality, ownership, and accessibility.

5. Operational Excellence

• Ensure reliability, scalability, and performance of manufacturing systems supporting global operations.
• Establish support models, service levels, and escalation paths for critical operational platforms.
• Drive simplification and standardization of manufacturing processes through technology.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on reducing complexity, improving user experience, and increasing operational efficiency.
• Partner with regional and plant leadership teams to ensure operational priorities are aligned with available Digital resources.
• Oversee vendor relationships, contracts, licensing, and support agreements for manufacturing technologies.

6. Innovation & Continuous Improvement

• Identify opportunities to leverage AI, automation, robotics, machine learning, advanced analytics, and Industry 4.0 technologies.
• Lead proofs-of-concept and pilot programs to validate new manufacturing technologies.
• Establish frameworks to scale successful innovations across Molex's global manufacturing network.
• Promote adoption of smart factory principles and connected manufacturing capabilities.
• Drive measurable business outcomes through digital transformation initiatives.
• Champion a culture of experimentation, learning, and operational innovation.

7. Manufacturing & Business Context

• Develop a deep understanding of Molex manufacturing processes, operational strategies, and business objectives.
• Support digital capabilities across diverse manufacturing environments and product portfolios.
• Enable technology solutions that improve production efficiency, quality performance, asset utilization, and workforce productivity.
• Partner with engineering, quality, and operations leaders to ensure digital investments drive measurable business value.
• Align manufacturing technology strategies with Molex's culture of operational excellence, continuous improvement, and innovation.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 12+ years of leadership experience in manufacturing technology, operations systems, or industrial digital transformation.
• Proven experience developing and implementing digital manufacturing strategies in a global environment.
• Strong knowledge of MES, QMS, WMS/MMS, ERP platforms (SAP preferred), Industrial IoT, Manufacturing Analytics, and Industry 4.0 technologies.
• Demonstrated success leading large-scale digital transformation and cross-functional initiatives.
• Strong executive presence with the ability to influence and collaborate across global organizations.
• Proficient in Mandarin to better serve our Mandarin-speaking customers and collaborate with counterparts

What Will Put You Ahead

• Experience in electronics manufacturing, industrial manufacturing, or highly engineered product environments.
• Track record of implementing AI-enabled manufacturing capabilities and smart factory initiatives.
• Experience building global technology roadmaps and manufacturing system architectures.
