The Business Systems Analyst – SAP & Cloud Analytics is a critical member of Columbia Sportswear’s Data & Analytics organization, supporting enterprise analytics across SAP and modern cloud platforms. This role works in close partnership with the Senior Data Engineer – BW and collaborates routinely with theCommercial,Supply Chain Databricks engineering team to deliver scalable, high‑impact analytics solutions.

The BSA playsa central rolein continuous improvement, production support, and requirements analysis for widely used SAP‑based analytics assets, while also contributing to the evolution of analytics on Azure Databricks and Power BI. Acting as a bridge between business stakeholders and multiple engineering teams, this role ensures that work is well‑understood, prioritized, and delivers incremental business value.

This position is well‑suited for a technically inclined analyst or former developer who enjoys working across platforms, coordinating delivery, and growing into modern cloud‑based analytics whileleveragingstrong SAP ecosystem knowledge.

HOW YOU’LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE

Continuous Improvement & Production Support

  • Partner closely with the Sr. Data Engineer – BW to deliver incremental enhancements to highly utilized SAP BW reporting and analytics assets

  • Triage, analyze, and manage incoming support tickets and enhancement requests, focusing on root cause understanding and business impact

  • Help ensure stability, usability, and performance of enterprise analytics used by Finance, Commercial, and Supply Chain teams

  • Identifyimprovement opportunities that incrementally increase value without disrupting core reporting

SAP Analytics & Domain Expertise

  • Serve asaSAP analytics knowledge resource for the broader data engineering organization, including engineers primarily working in Databricks

  • Explain SAP ECC / BW data structures, hierarchies, metrics, and business logic to support downstream data modeling and analytics

  • Provide functional anddata levelcontext to help teams correctly interpret and useSAP sourceddata in cloud platforms

  • Contribute to documentation and shared understanding of critical SAP datasets and analytics behavior

Cloud & Modern Analytics Collaboration

  • Work directly with theCommercial,Supply Chain Databricks engineering team to clarify requirements,validatedata, and alignSAP sourcedanalytics with cloud delivery patterns

  • Support analytics initiatives that span SAP BW, Databricks, and Power BI, ensuring consistency and clarity across platforms

  • Partner with engineers and analysts to enable trusted Power BI semantic models and datasets sourced from both SAP and cloud environments

  • Growhands-onfamiliarity with Databricks, Azure Data Lake, and Power BI, contributing to analysis, validation, and backlog readiness

Requirements & Stakeholder Coordination

  • Engage with business stakeholders to gather, refine, and document analytics requirements, including metrics, logic, filters, and data validation needs

  • Translate business requests into clear, actionable requirements suitable for BW, Databricks, or Power BI delivery

  • Coordinate work across SAP BW engineers, cloud data engineers, and analytics teams to ensure expectations and delivery timelines are aligned

  • Communicate status, risks, and outcomes clearly to both technical andnontechnicalaudiences

YOU ARE

  • Comfortable operating across SAP and modern cloud analytics platforms

  • Organized and proactive at managing work intake and prioritization

  • Confidentcommunicationwith engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders

  • Motivated to grow into modern analytics delivery whileleveragingdeep SAP knowledge

YOU HAVE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience

  • Experience working in or supporting SAP analytics environments (SAP BW, BW on HANA, or SAP ECC reporting)

  • Strong understanding of enterprise reporting concepts, metrics, and data quality considerations

  • Experience triaging issues, analyzing production data problems, and supporting widely used analytics assets

  • Proven ability to gather, document, and communicate business and technical requirements

  • Experience collaborating with data engineers or BI teams in an Agile or iterative delivery environment

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

PREFERRED / NICE TO HAVE

  • Prior experience as a developer, data engineer, or BI engineer

  • Familiarity withCommercial,Supply Chain analytics domains

  • Exposure to Databricks, cloud data platforms, or Azure analytics services

  • Experience supporting or working with Power BI datasets or semantic models

  • Experience working in a Global Capability Center (GCC) or distributed team model
