HIGH-LEVEL OVERVIEW

The Senior Compliance Specialist is a subject matter expert supporting the regulatory affairs team by identifying and resolving complex trade matters with clients to ensure compliance with CBP rules and regulations.

This is a remote position with a national brokerage and customs consulting company.

EXPECTATIONS

· Perform new client onboarding assessment to identify trade compliance risk profile
· Serve as a compliance resource to internal offices and maintain client relationships
· Resolve CF28 Requests for Information and CF29 Notices of Action with clients and CBP
· Support Post Summary Corrections (PSCs), protests, and reconciliation entries
· Craft petitions and facilitate resolution of Liquidated Damages and penalty cases
· Field Free Trade Agreement (FTA) inquiries, primarily USMCA, and support FTA claims
· Perform advanced HTS classification
· Monitor the Federal Register, CSMS messages, and trade publications and incorporate changes
· Research binding rulings and apply conclusions to client and internal questions
· Run ACE reports and analyze and present compliance data

ESSENTIALS

· Licensed Customs Broker (LCB) required
· 5+ years of trade compliance experience, consulting a plus
· Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
· In depth knowledge of customs entry process & regulations HTS, COO, FTA, PGAs
· Understanding of POA, right to make import, and customs bonds
· Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
· Customer centric mindset
