What You’ll Be Doing:

The Senior Compensation Specialist supports the design, administration, and ongoing management of compensation programs, including compensation analysis, market benchmarking, job evaluation, salary range management, pay equity, and annual merit and pay‑for‑performance cycles.

The role partners with business leaders and HR stakeholders to support informed decision making and attract, engage, and retain talent across Sienna’s communities and Support Services Office. It requires advanced compensation expertise, independent judgment, and the ability to manage complex and sensitive issues.

Compensation Program Design & Delivery

  • Design, implement, and manage compensation programs, including pay structures, salary planning, incentives, costing, and change management.
  • Deliver annual compensation cycles (merit, bonus, incentives), including administration, communications, and reporting.
  • Conduct market benchmarking and competitive analysis to ensure market alignment and pay equity.
  • Develop compensation analyses, recommendations, and executive-level insights on trends and cost impacts.
  • Manage salary ranges, off-cycle salary requests, and internal equity governance.
  • Support incentive administration, compliance, reporting, and participant communications.
  • Lead or support compensation projects, policy development, process improvements, and tool implementation.
  • Analyze compensation impacts for M&A activity and align with total rewards strategy.

Job Evaluation Program Management

  • Lead point-factor job evaluation and maintain job architecture and role classification integrity.
  • Support job benchmarking and ensure consistent internal and external role alignment.
  • Educate and coach HR Business Partners and stakeholders on job evaluation methodology and outcomes.
  • Ensure evaluation decisions are documented, defensible, and aligned with total rewards

Stakeholder Relations & Support

  • Support pay-for-performance strategy aligned to engagement, development, and performance management.
  • Partner with HR Business Partners to advise leaders on compensation strategy, job evaluation and pay equity.
  • Develop leader-facing tools, communications, SOPs, and knowledge resources to support program adoption.
  • Collaborate with Shared Services to optimize HRIS configuration for compensation delivery.
  • Provide high-quality, confidential support to internal stakeholders.

Who you are:

  • Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field; CCP an asset.
  • 5+ years’ experience in compensation administration, year-end processes, and job evaluation.
  • Strong knowledge of provincial and federal pay equity requirements.
  • Demonstrated experience in salary range development and management.

Able to coach others and share knowledge effectively in compensation practices

  • Advanced Excel skills;
  • Strong analytical, project management, and process improvement capabilities.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and influencing skills.
  • High attention to detail, sound judgment, and ability to handle confidential information.
  • Collaborative, organized, adaptable, and able to coach others effectively.

What you need to know:

  • The salary range for this position is: $69,953.00-$95,000 **Please note that individual salary is determined by factors such as job-related knowledge, skills and experience, as well as internal equity**
