Evaluate, define, and develop North America Region (NAR) Maintenance, Repair & Operations (MRO) supplies capable of supporting the Torreon Facility. Lead and close commercial initiatives with selected suppliers, define sourcing strategies, and drive implementation in collaboration with key stakeholders. Support and maintain the supplier base during ramp-up activities and ongoing production operations, including supplier escalations and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement sourcing strategies for MRO categories, indirect materials, services, and capital expenditure (CAPEX) requirements.
Identify, evaluate, qualify, and develop suppliers capable of supporting current and future business needs.
Own supplier relationships, including contract management, pricing negotiations, performance management, risk mitigation, and commercial issue resolution.
Lead RFQ/RFP processes, analyze supplier proposals, and recommend sourcing decisions based on quality, cost, service, and operational requirements.
Establish and maintain reliable sources of supply to ensure uninterrupted support for manufacturing operations.
Drive cost reduction, productivity improvement, deflation initiatives, and value engineering opportunities.
Perform spend analysis, market research, supplier benchmarking, and cost breakdown analysis to support strategic negotiations and sourcing decisions.
Completes data analyses and generates reports to drive spend visibility and identify opportunities for supply base optimization.
Monitor supplier performance through scorecards and KPI management while driving continuous improvement initiatives.
Manage supplier contracts and ensure compliance with company policies, commercial objectives, and legal requirements.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand procurement requirements and align sourcing strategies with business objectives.
Communicate supplier-related risks, opportunities, and mitigation plans across cross-functional teams.
Support commodity reviews, financial reviews, and annual procurement savings objectives.
Stay informed of market trends, industry developments, commodity fluctuations, and supplier business conditions that may impact supply continuity or cost structure.
Support supplier escalation activities and maintain strong supplier performance throughout product lifecycle and production ramp-up phases.
Contribute to the development of long-term strategic supplier partnerships that strengthen competitiveness and operational efficiency.
Educational Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Engineering, Finance, or a related technical field.
Advanced English proficiency required.
Professional certifications such as CPSM, CPM, APICS, or equivalent are considered a plus.
Specific coursework in purchasing, materials management, engineering, or quality assurance desirable.
Experience Requirements
Minimum of 3 years of experience in Strategic Sourcing, Procurement, Commodity Management, Supply Chain, or related roles.
Experience managing MRO categories, indirect procurement, service providers, CAPEX projects, and purchase order management.
Experience leading supplier negotiations, contract administration, and supplier performance management.
Manufacturing industry experience preferred.
