Snr Commissioning Technician

Position Title: (Snr.) Commissioning Technician

Department: Commissioning

Entity: CS e-Storage

Reports To: Commissioning Manager

Location: UK – Remote

The Commissioning Technician is an integral part of the commissioning team, with their main responsibility being to work with and support the commissioning engineer and their manager in the successful commissioning of our BESS projects. The successful candidate must be able and willing to travel and complete tasks at various project sites nation wide.

Responsibilities:

  • Play a critical role on-site in the execution of BESS projects, from mechanical completion through to entering commercial operation,
  • Perform task assigned by the commissioning manager and engineer, ranging from visual inspections through to electrical fault finding and beyond,
  • Perform daily routine tasks such as executing commissioning test sheets, reviewing and logging issues/resolutions and helping to monitor the progress of the project’s commissioning activities,
  • Support the commissioning of the overall control system by testing the network connectivity of all field devices and performing point-to-point tests,

  • Supervise su bcontractors on -site whe re req uired,
  • Ass ist in d eve lopi ng s ta ndard operating p roced ures from lessons learned on-site,
  • Assist with the c ompletion of testing d oc ument ati on and preparation of test reports in a t ime ly manner,
  • S upport clie nt and their O&M contractor tra ini ng,
  • Adhere to all health and safety rules and policies,
  • Attending and occasionally leading Plan of Day (POD) meetings,
  • Willingness to travel domestically up to 100% of the time. Willingness to support internationally on occasion is advantageous,
  • On occasion, be willing to work flexible hours (such as evenings and weekends).

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum NVQ/SVQ (or equivalent) level 3 in electrical discipline. HNC Preferred.
  • Mi ni mum 2 years’ re leva nt w ork ex perien ce in an installation, commissioning or ser vice en vi ronment,
  • Pr evi ous experience or tra ini ng in the renewables sector highly desired,
  • High Voltage and/or SC ADA e xperien ce will be beneficial,
  • Experience with HVAC/Liquid Chillers systems desirable,
  • Comfortable working in a team and/or alone with good practical problem-solving skills,
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for engaging effectively with internal teams and contractors.
  • Experience in Microsoft Office tools required, with experience in Smartsheets and Autodesk Construction Cloud advantageous.
  • Candidate must possess a valid driving license and passport.

In 2009, Canadian Solar EMEA GmbH was founded and comprises currently of more than 50 employees from 18 different nations. Highly skilled experts represent our team and we are confident to serve our customers. We are a sales organization and can support our sales team from the Munich office within the fields of technical, legal, accounting, marketing, logistics and order fulfillment matters.

Within the EMEA region, we are distinguishing between three different business lines: modules sales, digital solutions and energy business . The first two teams lead from the Munich office, are responsible for the modules sales and digital solutions are finally reporting to CCO Yan Zhuang, responsible for the global sales within Canadian Solar.
