Job Description

The Digital Modernization Sector at Leidos has an opening for a Sr. Command & Telemetry (C&T) Network Engineer. The C&T Network Engineer is a technical role which includes solution and design engineering functions for government passive and active network infrastructures. The candidate will be responsible for C&T Network Engineering and supporting other engineering teams for all network design and engineering activities. These engineering activities will be conducted on the government’s wide area networks (WAN), the local area networks (LAN), Campus Area Networks (CAN), Access and Control Interfaces (CI), Command and Telemetry and other networks that support multiple classification levels of communications.

The job duties of the Sr. Command &Telemetry (C&T) Engineer are as follows:

  • Regularly supports the technical assessment and delivery of a specific technical network solution to the customer.

  • Provides a key support role in operating as a conducive high-performance team across all lifecycle stages.

  • Provides technical direction and engineering expertise for network systems infrastructure activities, including planning, designing, and implementing communications and network infrastructure requirements for buildings and systems (Routers, Firewalls, DNS, IPAM, NTP, Command and Telemetry).

  • Generate installation plans, procedures, templates, and training documentation, which will be used by other service team members to efficiently deploy C&T solutions.

  • Performs/Conducts the transition/transformation from existing to new network design solutions.

  • Provides technical consulting and advice to others on efforts, solution design, system management, tuning and modification of solutions.

  • Collects and determines data from appropriate sources to assist in determining customer needs and requirements.

  • Responds to requests for technical information from customers.

  • Develops customer technology solutions using various industry products and technologies.

Basic Requirements

  • Required Clearance: TS/SCI with Polygraph

  • Candidate must have 16 years of experience that can be a combination of work history and education. This equates to a Doctorate and 8 years, master’s and 10 years, bachelor’s and 12 years, associates and 14 years or HS diploma and 16 years. Required qualifications include the following:

  • Must be compliant with DoD 8140 Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level 2.

  • Professional experience with OSI layers 1, 2, and 3 to troubleshoot various network faults and performance issues

  • Hands on experience with Cisco and/or Juniper routers

  • Extensive experience troubleshooting of Multiprotocol Label Switch (MPLS) across the WAN.

  • Hands on experience deploying Command and Telemetry solutions

Pay Range:

Pay Range $92,300.00 - $166,850.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
