The ID (Industrial Design) China team is seeking a talented and passionate CMF Designer based in Shenzhen to support CMF development and implementation on our innovative consumer products. As a Senior CMF Designer you need to work with cross-functional teams and suppliers with responsibility for communication and creative exploration of various methods to achieve CMF design intent. You will own CMF sample review and sign-off in region, set up proper specs, and manage transformation to production.

Key job responsibilities
Communicate with CMF US team to understand CMF design intent, collaborate on developing CMF specifications and master samples, and then transfer these to engineering teams and suppliers.
Collaborate with the local engineering team and suppliers during CMF development, andown on-site CMF sample review, evaluation, and sign-off in region, keeping the CMF US team aligned through regular updates and escalations on critical decisions.
Collaborate with the core team and suppliers to verify new CMF design. Collect samples with comparison data for multiple CMF design options against cosmetic, cost, reliability, schedule and other critical attributes.
Generate and manage measurable CMF specifications for multiple materials and processes;independently review, approve, and sign off CMF executionwith the highest standards and set up production specs.
Provide CMF execution guideline to ODM teams, andserve as the final approver for CMF deliverables in region, partnering with the CMF US team only on strategic or out-of-spec decisions.

Basic Qualifications


- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, material science, physics or equivalent, or Bachelor's degree
- Experience in English-language communication skills, both written and verbal
- Years of CMF design/engineering experience in consumer electronics, with proven hands-on track record working directly with local engineers and suppliers to execute CMF on roadmap products.
- Deep expertise acrossmultiple materials(plastic, textile, leather, metal, rubber, glass) andprocesses(molding, painting, fabric wrapping, printing, laser etching, anodizing/PVD/IMD) on wearable, handheld, and desktop consumer electronics.
- Proven ability tolead color match, texture, and gloss reviewsand independently sign off on master samples, including *L *a *b data management across materials.
- Strong aesthetic sensibility, user experience focus, and attention to detail throughout CMF development and execution.
- A portfolio showcasing roadmap products that demonstrates CMF problem-solving on each program.

Preferred Qualifications

- Master's degreein Industrial Design, Material Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Familiarity withIP-rated product requirements (IP54 / IP56 / IP67)and how material and finish selections affect ingress protection performance.
- Comfortable in ambiguous situations, able toroot cause and provide CMF solutions on-site at the factory.
- Comprehensive thinking during CMF development and implementation for bothpart level and device level.
