The Impact You’ll Make in this Role 

Sr. Cloud Platform Engineer role is part of the IT Platform Engineering team which enables Cloud & DevOps practice across 3M. This role focuses on implementation, refactor, re-platform, and rearchitect of applications and application E2E deployment processes for 3M’s Public Cloud (Azure/AWS). We also support building automation to manage our source code management system (GitHub), deploying cloud resources (Azure/AWS), and Operations & support IT Infra for global 3M teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Designs and develop next generation cloud platforms for 3M to support large scale server/application workloads.

• Advocates for engineering practices and assists teams in using frameworks for infrastructure as code and immutable infrastructure concepts.

• Write, maintain, and support automation scripts that integrate with GitHub, Azure Active Directory, Microsoft Teams, and Azure subscriptions.

• Troubleshoot, patch, and maintain existing automation scripts, infrastructure, and deployed cloud resources.

• Deploy and manage Azure Functions, Logic Apps, Service Bus queues/topics, Azure Storage (Blob/Queue), Security, Networking, Azure Local and other Azure cloud resources.

• Builds full and partial stack components for hybrid, Azure, and on-premises solutions

• Develops Azure cloud native templates

• Ensures the quality, consistency, and performance of the cloud platform through fully automated deployments, functional and performance testing.

• Works as a member of global infrastructure engineering responsible to design, develop and operate cloud platforms which runs 24x7.

Required Experience and Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in information systems, Computer Science, or a related field — or equivalent experience from an accredited university.

• Minimum 6-9 years of hands-on experience in IT (4 yrs with DevOps).

• Experience in with Frontend UI development (node.js or similar) and hands-on with Python & Yaml/Typescript.

Optional Experience and Skills

• Demonstrated knowledge of IaaS, PaaS, and virtualization – service-oriented architecture designed around the delivery of Infrastructure components as a service

• Proficiency in at least three of the following: ARM, CFT, CDK, Python, PowerShell, Terraform, JSON, Node.js, Java, JavaScript

• Working knowledge of traditional IT systems to include Operating Systems, Platforms, Database, Automation, Storage, and Data Protection

• Working knowledge or experience delivering modern applications, microservices, and services within a CICD / DevOps model

• Familiarity with industry compliance and security standards including China MLPS, PCI DSS, SOC-1&2, ISO 27001, HIPAA, ITAR, CJIS and FDA.
