This individual will play a critical role in helping UGT’s federal and enterprise clients modernize legacy infrastructures, optimize performance, and ensure compliance with security and governance standards.

The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, and experienced in complex cloud migrations, infrastructure automation, and hybrid cloud integrations involving Azure, AWS, and on-prem systems.

Key Responsibilities

Support the Cloud Architect in implementing modernization roadmaps and migration plans across hybrid and multi-cloud environments.

Build and optimize CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure deployment and configuration management.

Implement and maintain governance, cost optimization, and compliance controls aligned with CMMC, NIST 800-171, and DOE/NNSA standards.

Support cloud-to-cloud and on-prem-to-cloud integrations, ensuring seamless data flow and operational continuity.

Collaborate with security and network engineers to ensure architecture adheres to zero-trust and defense-in-depth principles.

Develop and maintain monitoring, alerting, and backup strategies leveraging tools such as Azure Monitor, CloudWatch, and Sentinel.

Troubleshoot complex issues across cloud infrastructure layers and propose sustainable solutions.

Prepare and maintain technical documentation and standard operating procedures.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

7+ years of experience in cloud engineering, systems administration, or infrastructure operations.

Demonstrated expertise with Azure and AWS (multi-cloud environments preferred).

Strong hands-on experience with IaC (Terraform, Bicep, or ARM) and DevOps toolchains (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Azure DevOps).

Solid understanding of networking, identity, and security frameworks in the cloud (Azure AD, IAM, firewalls, NSGs, WAFs, VPNs).

Experience in migrating workloads from on-prem or legacy systems to modern cloud platforms.

Familiarity with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).

Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Ability to work effectively in fast-paced, collaborative, and regulated environments.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience supporting DOE, DOD, or federal cloud environments.

Certifications such as Azure Administrator Associate, AWS Solutions Architect, or Terraform Associate.

Familiarity with CMMC, FedRAMP, or NIST-based compliance frameworks.

Experience supporting AI/ML, HPC, or data platform workloads in the cloud.
