The Impact You’ll Make in this Role

As a Sr Clinical Consulting Services Manager, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

Assume departmental leadership and responsibility/overall management oversight for client engagements that are typically medium to large scale health care systems with the risk confined to the project, timeline, deliverables and high business impact while leading the Clinical Consulting Services team in obtaining defined financial goals:

  • Provide direct supervision to assigned employees through leadership, coaching, training and development, allocating work assignments, review of progress in achieving objectives, managing employee compensation, performance appraisals, diversity, disability, all relevant employee data, etc.
  • Provide education on coding, documentation, compliance and working with related Solventum products and consulting service delivery as well as specialty programs related to individual areas of expertise.
  • Lead auditing tasks of medical record coding, documentation, compliance and AR-DRG assignment.
  • Lead remote or onsite clinical consulting teams and engagements comprised of client discovery and planning, financial impact assessments, education training for clients on coding, documentation, compliance, business process advisory services and working with related Solventum products and consulting service delivery, as well as specialty programs related to individual areas of expertise for client and staff.
  • Oversee clinical teams and members creating clinical content and managing regulatory content release cycles.
  • Serve as a professional subject matter expert creating and presenting thought leadership topics at industry and Solventum conferences, tradeshows, events and publications.
  • Well-versed in speaking and presenting to client C-Level and Director Level audiences and engaging various client stakeholders during the sales cycle and throughout the delivery of client consulting services programs.
  • Work collaboratively with Solventum cross-functional departments and leaders in Australia, New Zealand and globally.
  • Understand and enforce corporate/location policies and procedures. Take appropriate action to address policy violations.

Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, Solventum requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher from an accredited institution

AND seven (7) years of clinical coding/health information management experience, consulting or acute care CDI experience

AND five (5) years of ICD-10-AM/ACHI/Australian Coding Standards knowledge and AR-DRG methodologies experience

AND two (2) years of leading a health information or clinical consulting services team

In addition to the above requirements, the following are also required:

  • CHIM or Eligible for membership of HIMAA or Valid RN or License with minimum of five (5) years acute care experience
  • Minimum of five (5) years of CDI experience
  • Deep understanding of and relationship among clinical documentation, medical record coding, healthcare billing and revenue cycle management
  • Extensive experience with and understanding of health information applications (PAS, EHR, EMR, Encoder, CAC/CDI, etc)
  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

  • Master's degree in HIM, Nursing, or other healthcare clinical background
  • Preferred 10+ years in advanced CDI or Health Information Management (HIM) services consulting and/or managing CDI or coding functions in mid-to-large size acute care hospital setting
  • Proficient Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint and other Microsoft Office programs
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, work independently and produce excellent results with attention to detail, highly organized, with an absolute focus on quality of work
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with professionalism.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to multitask and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
  • Change management and change transformation skills.
  • A positive attitude and exceptional interpersonal skills, coupled with a customer service-oriented approach.
