This position aims to identify cost reductions opportunities, ensure supplier's good performance (cost, delivery, quality, warranty), act to support new Product Introduction team within purchasing, support supplier development team as well as raise and lead sub-categories strategies.

Your Impact

  • Supplier Relationship Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, especially under capacity constraints; understand their challenges and provide maximum support from AGCO.

  • Cost & Process Optimization: Achieve cost-saving targets, support process improvement initiatives, and ensure strict cost management to avoid divergencies and credit notes.

  • Strategic Sourcing & RFQ Management: Identify best sources for part quotations through Low-Cost Countries, ensure timely RFQs, and select suppliers based on cost, delivery, and quality; develop sub-commodity strategies and conduct negotiations.

  • Contract & Project Management: Prepare purchase bids for multiple projects while collaborating with internal teams (engineering, quality, logistics, manufacturing); sign and organize contracts for casting suppliers, including warranty, quality, logistics agreements, and LTAs for productivity.

  • Performance & Supplier Base Development: Lead major negotiations with competitors for the commodity representing the SA team; reduce product cost by 2% YoY; manage supplier base by increasing partner-level suppliers and minimizing order divergencies.

Your Experience and Qualifications

  • Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in engineering (preferred), Business Administration, International Trade (Comex), or any other business-related area.

  • Experience & Skills: Minimum 3-4 years in Purchasing with strong communication and negotiation experience; hands-on and result-driven approach.

  • Language & Tools: Advanced level of English required; proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint.

  • Interpersonal & Technical Knowledge: Good interpersonal skills; experience and knowledge in the Castings category is a strong advantage.

  • Problem-Solving Requirements: Ability to handle commercial issues due to debit notes (low complexity); manage negotiation breakdowns with major suppliers requiring moderate problem-solving skills, maturity, and experience to avoid loss of leverage or negative consequences for AGCO.
