Under general supervision, responsible for carrying out broad assignments involving the purchase of high dollar and/or strategic items, requiring extensive or specialized knowledge and experience. Develops sources of supply, negotiates contracts, checks requisitions, contacts suppliers, examines bids and proposals and makes awards. Determines material requirements from Sales & Marketing, Demand Planning and the Production Schedule and coordinates the efficient movement of materials through production cycle, consignment programs and the Kan-ban/Pink-card system. Evaluates supplier reliability and may provide work leadership and train lower level Buyers. Participates in and helps to lead Division-wide Strategic Sourcing efforts. Typically requires a college education or equivalent and a minimum of five years relevant experience. This senior level non-management position reports to the Purchasing Manager.
Salary range: $80,000 - $100,000
