This job is responsible for driving and executing on internal control discipline and operational excellence within a Line of Business (LOB) or Enterprise Control Function (ECF). Key responsibilities include providing analytical and administrative support for LOB or ECF specific processes and tools to drive adherence to enterprise-wide standards. Job expectations include monitoring and testing controls and implementing quality assurance and quality control processes within the LOB or ECF by evaluating data to help identify, track, and report issues and control improvements for remediation.

The candidate will support the Specialized Consumer Client Solutions organization as a key contributor within the Platform and Product Controls CORE team (Continuity, Operations, Readiness & Execution). This role focuses on supporting centralized Business Continuity execution for Preferred & Consumer Investments, Banking, Enablement and Controls, coordinating platform incident management, and contributing to operational readiness for major events.

The individual will help maintain consistent execution of continuity readiness and response, documentation, testing, and enterprise reporting requirements. They will support cross‑functional coordination during platform technology incidents, contribute to the development of playbooks and templates, and assist with risk identification and process enhancements to strengthen the Preferred & Consumer Investments, Banking, Enablement and Controls resiliency framework.

This position requires someone who is organized, analytical, comfortable working across multiple partner groups, a team contributor, and able to execute in a fast‑paced environment with shifting priorities and strategic, critical thinking.

Responsibilities:

Operational Readiness & Response Support

  • Support the execution of Platform and Product Controls CORE team readiness and response processes, including assisting metric documentation, communication and template updates, coordinating awareness, and business impact collection.
  • Help identify continuity‑related risks, dependencies, and documentation gaps; escalate issues as needed to CORE leadership.
  • Contribute to Platform and Product Controls requirements tied to operational resilience and Recovery & Resolution planning.

Execution, Collaboration & Operational Discipline

  • Work effectively across partner groups, maintaining strong communication and follow‑through.
  • Manage multiple tasks and priorities while ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines.
  • Provide high‑quality documentation, reporting, and operational support to strengthen incident response processes.

Risk, Controls, and Process Improvement

  • Help identify operational, reputational, or control risks across platforms; assist with documenting issues and tracking remediation.
  • Support the consolidation of fragmented continuity routines by standardizing documentation and process steps.
  • Perform trend analysis, root cause reviews, and reporting to help highlight insights for CORE and business partners.
  • Assist in preparing materials for internal forums, partner meetings, and updates to leadership.
  • Oversees the design and effectiveness of the risk and control environment to support Client Operational Services and ensure adherence to enterprise-wide standards
  • Supports the monitoring and testing of controls by evaluating data to identify issues and control improvements for remediation
  • Implements optimized controls and enhanced Quality Assurance (QA) practices to support business continuity efforts
  • Conducts and coordinates quality inspection reviews to enhance employee performance and control effectiveness
  • Performs QA activities including executing on controls, managing cases, and reporting results
  • Executes initiatives by identifying areas of potential testing automation, procedural updates, thematic trends, test script updates, and coaching opportunities to enhance QA program success
  • Supports the overall management of and research required for regulatory exams, internal audits, and other monitoring and inspection reviews and evaluates data and information relevant to inspection metrics to support governance activities for dashboard reporting

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience in Business Continuity, Operational Resilience, Credit Risk Management, or Operational Loss Management.
  • Experience in Business Controls, Digital Operations, or Supervisory functions.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and adapt to changing business needs.
  • Understanding of Merrill Edge clients, products, and platform functionality (client‑facing and employee).
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to perform detailed documentation, review, and reporting.
  • Ability to shift priorities quickly and work effectively during time‑sensitive events.
  • Strong verbal, comprehension, and written communication skills.
  • Problem‑solving ability and strong attention to detail.
  • Self‑starter with the ability to work independently within a complex environment.
  • Must be proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Teams, and WebEx
  • 5–8+ years of experience in financial services

Desired Qualifications:

  • Series 7 and 9/10 (or ability to obtain)
