ABOUT THE POSITION

The Senior SAP Basis Administrator in the Columbia Digital Technology (CDT) team is a senior technical resource responsible for the implementation and ongoing support of Columbia’s SAP systems, servers, and databases. This role requires deep expertise across the SAP ecosystem, a proven ability to maintain stable and current landscapes, and the capability to deliver complex technical solutions using SAP best practices.

Based in the India Global Capability Center (GCC), this position partners closely with global teams and plays a key role in executing Columbia Sportswear’s SAP lifecycle strategy, overseeing installations, upgrades, patching, performance optimization, issue diagnosis, and root‑cause resolution across all SAP environments.

HOW YOU’LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE

  • Hands-on administration of SAP systems and solutions such as S/4HANA, SAP ECC, BW on HANA, BOE/Lumira, Data Services, SLT, Content Server, Cloud Connector, GRC, Solution Manager, Gateway, Vertex, Sovos Taxware, Fiori, Cloud ALM, Web Dispatcher, etc.
  • Perform installation, configuration, and maintenance of SAP systems, Kernels, Support Packs, Feature Packs, add-ons, and transports.
  • Manage SAP HANA database administration tasks including installation, upgrades, system replication, backup & recovery, and performance tuning.
  • Monitor system performance and take proactive steps to address bottlenecks, memory issues, dumps, and security vulnerabilities.
  • Perform technical troubleshooting as necessary to ensure 24/7 availability of all systems.
  • Perform system refreshes and participate in scheduling refresh activities with stakeholders.
  • Participate in SAP maintenance activities.
  • Timely address the issues reported to the Basis team via emails, tickets, and other monitoring tools.
  • Follow procedures and standards regarding Transports and Corrections in conjunction with requirements defined by Change and Release Management.
  • Manage hybrid landscapes and integrations with third-party systems.
  • Implement automation and process improvements for operational efficiency.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, SOPs, and architecture diagrams.
  • SAP Basis On-call support when needed.

YOU ARE

  • 5 - 10 years of IT experience required, with at least 5 years of experience in an SAP Basis Administration capacity
  • Experience with SAP S/4HANA, SAP HANA, SAP NetWeaver, and Fiori
  • Experience with Microsoft Windows and SQL Server SAP environments
  • Experience with SAP BTP administration, including Identity Management, Integration Suite, etc.
  • Proven ability to build effective relationships and partnerships with business stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results within required timelines.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross‑functional teams

YOU HAVE

  • Experience with S/4HANA implementation/migration experience
  • Experience in RISE with SAP and S/4HANA Private Cloud Edition
  • Experience with Cloud environments
  • Experience with SAP Cloud ALM, Active Control
  • Experience with JIRA and Confluence (Atlassian tools)
