Description


We are seeking a skilled Automation Engineer - Estimation to provide comprehensive
automation solutions across diverse industries. The role involves expertise in estimating
and proposing automation systems, including SCADA, RTU, PLC, and Instrumentation,
ensuring accurate and efficient project execution.
Key Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed technical and commercial proposals aligned with customer requirements, project specifications and tender specifications for both

  • Brownfield and Greenfield automation projects.

  • Propose and prepare system architectures, bills of materials, and technical compliance documentation for process automation solutions incorporating

  • control systems like PLC, RTU, SCADA, Historian, VFD and Instrumentation.

  • Provide innovative and technically sound solutions for complex automation and software systems tailored to diverse industrial requirements

  • Conduct detailed cost estimation, factoring in all elements such as supply, services, warranties, and product life cycle support Manage internal proposal review and approval process.

  • Identify risks and include appropriate mitigation strategies and contingency in the proposal.

  • Establish project timelines and prepare proposal budgets.

  • Document lessons acquired from errors in estimation.

  • Identify the areas of variation possibilities during estimation.

  • Arrive at a cash flow plan (investment for project) and suggest the best possible payment terms for the project.

  • Coordinate with the technical team wherever necessary to optimize system solutions.

  • Keep records of data behind the system selection process like simplex/redundancy, type of communication selection, HMI size, No. of tags, 16ch or 32ch IO etc.

  • Select components matching specification based on available inventory/partner products.

  • Will be entirely responsible for the estimation done until project closure, the costing will be reviewed on project completion and the percentage of correctness to be recorded.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with strong interpersonal abilities.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as P&ID, C&E, Tender, Project specification, System architecture, Scope of work.

  • Technical expertise in PLC, VFD, SCADA, Network switch and HMI.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to address complex automation challenges.

  • Knowledge of IEC codes related to PLC/SCADA.

  • Strong understanding of different industrial automation process.

  • Strong understanding of cost estimation principles, including service, supply, and product lifecycle considerations.

  • Strong understanding of industrial communication protocols such as Modbus, Profibus, Profinet, and Ethernet or Modbus TCP/IP.

  • Basic Knowledge of PLC Redundancy configuration in terms of CPU and IO’s.

  • Basic Knowledge of SCADA Server and client configuration.

  • Basic Knowledge of Control Panel Enclosures, Field instruments and cable.

  • Basic knowledge of DCS, SIS, SIL and Hazop

Experience:

At least 5 to 6 years of practical experience with Siemens, Rockwell, Schneider, and T-Box products, with a strong preference for candidates with
a background in industrial automation.
Education & Certification:

Technical School Graduation / Diploma in Engineering (Instrumentation / Electronics / Industrial automation or related field).
