Do you love bringing strategic vision to life? Are you excited about driving large-scale business transformation? We are seeking a Senior Associate of Program Strategy & Operations to join the Enterprise Ways of Working (EWOW) team within the American Express Technology Business Enablement (TBE) organization. In this role you will have the opportunity to shape the future of how American Express builds digital products and delivers value to our customers by optimizing our ways of working (WoW).
Th EWOW team is focused on the effort to transform how we plan, invest, and allocate resources through scaling new ways of working across the Enterprise. EWOW Program Strategy & Operations focuses on strategy development and execution, program operations, and governance, as well as overall integration of new WoW with Enterprise-wide processes. Examples of new ways of working include, but are not limited to: driving enhanced collaboration and co-creation across business, product, technology, and design through all stages of product development cycle; ensuring alignment with architecture frameworks and standards and SDLC controls; applying new ways of working to investment portfolio planning, capacity management and governance oversight to enable the key tenets of our operating model.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work cross-functionally to support day-to-day scale-up activities, tracking overall progress and proactively identifying risks and escalating if necessary.

  • Assist in preparing executive-level materials and communications for a variety of forums on a regular basis.

  • Communicate with cross-functional teams within the EWOW team and throughout the Enterprise to ensure alignment on program milestones and next steps while collaborating effectively and building key relationships.

  • Maintain and organize centralized document repository for key program materials and resources.

  • Support the development of the WoW program strategy and approach to scaling

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Proficient in leveraging AI to increase productivity and expertise with PowerPoint and Excel

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, and ability to present ideas clearly

  • Strong organization skills, has great attention to detail, and is proficient at managing multiple priorities

  • Ability to quickly adapt to change while continuing to make progress towards program goals

  • Soft skills – analytical thinking, curiosity, continuous learning, and improvement attitude

  • Bachelor’s degree

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in project/program management working on high-priority, large scale transformational change

  • Background in strategy or management consulting, strategic planning, or portfolio management

  • Experience working with C-suite or executive-level stakeholders

  • Familiarity with digital landscape & tech business management, product development lifecycle, and investment planning processes

  • Self-starter and loves working in a lean, fast-paced, environment with the ability to pivot quickly and navigate ambiguity, forming solutions out of white space

  • Prior experience in Tech/FinTech or payments/banking industry

Minimum Qualifications

Salary Range: $89,250.00 to $150,250.00 annually + bonus + benefits
