Functional area: Operations & Maintenance
Remuneration: Exempt

Reporting to the Director, Asset Optimization, the Sr. Asset Optimization Manger is responsible for overseeing performance and operational improvement initiatives within the Operations & Asset Management department. This role combines leadership and strategic performance management of the Operations business including influence of multi-disciplinary teams, and promoting a high-performing, collaborative and engaged team culture; delivering continuously improving, data-driven results; implementing innovative best business practices; and driving operational improvement initiatives.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Drive Operational Improvement Initiatives
    • Ensure effective initiative identification, business case validation, and prioritization with O&M/Asset Management stakeholders and relevant business partners (considering relative value at stake and ease of implementation)
    • Collaborate effectively with initiative sponsors/owners developing and utilizing status tracking accountability toolkits and stewardship mechanisms
    • Steward overall initiative tracking to ensure implementation planning, execution, and bottom-line value capture are on-track or escalated for appropriate intervention as needed to meet targets
  • Performance Monitoring
    • Establish and enhance KPIs and dashboards to monitor and drive data-informed decisions that influence asset health, reliability, and efficiency
    • Conduct detailed analysis of operational data to identify trends and prioritize areas for improvement
  • Team Development
    • Contribute to the development of a high-performing asset optimization team
    • Provide mentorship and development opportunities to staff across the organization, fostering a culture of accountability and innovation
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
    • Partner with teams including Finance, Operations, Asset Management, Engineering as well as capital project and other support functions to ensure data-driven decisions

Job Requirements and Experiences:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Finance, or related field required; advanced degree preferred
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in Asset Optimization, Operations, or a related field
  • Strong leadership experience with demonstrated ability to manage and motivate teams
  • Minimum 2 years of supervisory and managerial experience; demonstrated leadership skills with solid track record of accountability and delivery of results
  • Strong working knowledge of budgeting, project management, and cost management tools, processes and software
  • Proven ability to lead, develop and provide training, feedback, performance management, coaching and mentoring to others
  • Strategic and analytical thinking
  • Proficiency in analyzing operational and financial data to inform decision-making
  • Demonstrates the ability to effectively enlist and energize stakeholders in a shared vision and to direct, align and inspire the actions of others in bringing about transformational change; builds strong and effective relationships with all stakeholders through exceptional communications, personal leadership and commitment to the success of the department and the organization

  • Demonstrated desire to learn about the Company and the renewables space
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook)
  • This position is an office-based role with some travel and visits to other RWEA office and field locations
  • The employee must be able to sit, walk, or stand for long durations of time
