Job Description

Working with significant independence and under general direction, provides advanced technical expertise and guidance in the architecture, design, programming, testing, documentation and implementation of business intelligence and data analytic systems. Responsible for the complex and efficient ETL maps, highly intuitive data models, reports and dash boards, migrations into different environments, maintenance and monitoring of the Enterprise Reporting. Evaluates software packages, provides recommendations to management and business clients, and identifies best technology solutions. Identifies future needs for key technologies and techniques and develops plans for adoption. Provide advice and counsel to management and client organizations. Conduct special studies and analyses, develop alternatives, present recommendations to management and influence management decisions. Research, analyze, develop, and implement new strategies, programs, and/or processes in response to changing internal and external conditions. Act as the technical lead for highly complex projects related to the development of new business analytical solutions, testing and implementing business intelligence reporting systems, data mapping components, source system data, ETL strategy, data staging, moving and aggregation, information and analytics delivery, and data quality strategy. Provide technical leadership to staff; may direct work of developers and various analysts in the completion of assigned projects. Plan, schedule and assign work based on established priorities. Oversee software development and ensure conformance to performance optimization and interoperability standards and requirements. Ensure adherence to secure development lifecycle practices and policies. Perform project planning, system analysis, software design and coding, testing, documentation, implementation and research activities as necessary for software engineering projects. Act as the subject matter expert, and consult with clients on company's IT strategy and business requirements. Collaborate with IT teams from applications and infrastructure to identify technology deficiencies and improvement opportunities in practices and procedures. Provide guidance and direction to team members as necessary in the completion of assigned projects. Participate in on-call rotation, including after hour and weekend support. Performs additional responsibilities as requested or assigned Education Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology or related field; or equivalent work experience. (Typically four years of additional related, progressive work experience would be needed for candidates applying for this position who do not possess a bachelor’s degree.) Prior Job Experience Six years of related experience in database administration, systems analysis or data engineering. Demonstrated advanced knowledge of data modeling and code design impacts for data loading and reporting performance. Maintain the professional competence, knowledge and skills necessary for the satisfactory completion of responsibilities; enhance job knowledge and abilities by taking personal responsibility for professional development and training. Ability to work with all organizational levels to influence actions and negotiate outcomes. Ability to listen and communicate effectively through oral and written means. Proficient with the use of personal computers to gather, analyze, and summarize data. Availability for regular on-call responsibilities.
