How will you make an impact?

The Market Intelligence Analyst will play a key role in supporting Category Teams and Senior Leadership with market insights that help drive savings and manage risk across categories. The ideal candidate must have the ability to quickly adapt to a fast learning and changing environment as well as being a team player that finds solutions to challenges.

What will you do?

Scale of Responsibilities

• Conduct category, industry, and supplier market research; identify relevant trends and factors for consideration in sourcing strategy development
• Develop analysis of suppliers and key offerings (products, service, quality levels, etc.)
• Support the Sourcing team with quantitative analyses of proposals and cost savings opportunities
• Develop commodity forecasts and guidance to drive procurement decisions
• Maintain commodity market guidance dashboards to be refreshed monthly / quarterly
• Drive category analytics to inform category strategies (including trends, suppliers, common parts, market data, etc.)
• Provide market intelligence support in response to global events that can impact Thermo Fishers supply chain
• Coordinate the delivery of Market Intelligence projects with the support of internal teams.
• Manage the budget for Market Intelligence sources of information
• Develop scenario planning models to provide forward looking insights to drive planning decisions
• Increase the visibility and adoption of market intelligence tools and insights through engagement with key stakeholders

Functional & Technical Responsibilities

• Strong research and problem-solving skills – ability to generate actionable insights from data
• Experience working with subscription-based web tools to prepare market intelligence deliverables
• Advanced analytics skills required – ability to collect and interpret data to drive procurement decisions (Excel expert, experience with Power BI)
• Experience utilizing AI to enhance MI insights and drive analysis focus areas
• Sourcing knowledge preferred
• Experience with workflow management tools (ServiceNow, QuickBase) – Nice to have

How will you get here?

Education

• Degree in economics, international trade, market research, statistics, business administration, or related field

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

• 4+ years of relevant working experience in similar roles
• Familiarity with either of the following areas: finance, supply chain, procurement, etc.

• Experienced in working in a dynamic Agile project delivery environment

• Strong analytical, problem-solving and synthesizing skills
• Solid skill on English communication that could collaborate with regional & global peers
• Strong Sense of service and passion to impact others
• Effective communicator able to rapidly synthesize and communicate findings to leadership
• High attention to detail
• Independent worker with the ability to track and manage own deadlines
