Pembina Pipeline Corporation’s Calgary office is recruiting for an Senior Analyst, Cost Partnering to join the team. This position is a part of the Cost FP&A team in the Financial Planning & Analysis Unit, part of Pembina’s Financial Services Division.

The Senior Analyst, Cost Partnering plays a critical role in supporting operational asset teams through advanced cost analysis, forecasting, and decision support. The success of Finance depends on a team of dedicated, strategic‑minded individuals who understand the business and can partner effectively to influence decisions and proactively identify areas of opportunity.This role requires the ability to develop trusted business relationships with internal clients and to operate effectively in an environment with numerous and shifting priorities across the organization. The Senior Analyst acts as a trusted thought partner to Cost Partners and operational leaders, translating financial insights into meaningful, decision‑ready information that supports cost discipline, transparency, and performance.The position operates with a high degree of independence and judgment, often owning key cost areas, analyses, or processes.

Responsibilities may include but not limited to:

Advanced Cost Analysis & Forecasting

  • Lead asset‑level cost forecasts, budgets, and outlooks for assigned areas, including reviewing operational inputs and challenging assumptions.
  • Provide insightful variance analysis, clearly explaining drivers, risks, and emerging trends to stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain driver‑based cost models to support planning and scenario analysis.

Business Partnering & Decision Support

  • Partner directly with operational stakeholders to support cost understanding, trade‑off discussions, and cost optimization opportunities.
  • Support management decision‑making through proactive analysis and recommendations.
  • Act as a first point of escalation for more complex cost questions within assigned scope.

Process Improvement & Leadership

  • Identify opportunities to improve cost forecasting, reporting, and analysis processes.
  • Support standardization of tools, templates, and methodologies across asset teams.
  • Provide coaching and informal guidance to Analysts; contribute to knowledge sharing within the team.
  • Ensure consistency in service offering across all cost partners

Qualifications:

  • University degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 4–7+ years of progressive experience in FP&A, cost management, or operational finance.
  • Strong analytical and financial modelling skills, including comfort working through ambiguity.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain trusted relationships with internal business partners.
  • Strong cross‑functional business acumen, with the ability to understand operational drivers and financial outcomes.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and influencing skills, including the ability to present complex analysis clearly and concisely.
  • Comfortable working directly with and supporting senior management.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities while maintaining quality, accuracy, and follow‑through.
  • Proactive, solution‑oriented mindset with strong ownership and accountability.
  • Willing and able to visit operational sites or field offices at least annually.

Pembina’s Flexible Work Standard provides the option for eligible employees to work remotely on Fridays.

The successful candidate must be legally able to work in the country of the position. The final candidate will be required to undergo Pre-Employment Background Checks including a Criminal Record Check.
